Description
Ma 24 1927. y P. CARDARELLA NURSING BOTTLE HOLDER Filed March 20, 1922 W11 # 1 ATTORNE Y tached.
Patented May 24, 1927.
PHILIP CABDABELLA, OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.
Application filed March 20, 1922. Serial No. 545,212.
My invention relates to improvements in nursing bottle holders.
One of the objects of my invention is to provide a simple, cheap .iursing bottle holder, which can be readily attached to opposite sides of a crib or similar article so as to .support a nursing bottle within easy reach of an infant occupying the crib, which permits of the ready adjustment of the bottle to different positions, which isnot liable to get out of order, and which-may be readily attached to bottles of different sizes.
The novel features of my invention are hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawing which illustrates the preferred embodiment of my invention,
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a crib to which my improved bottle holder is at- Fig. 2 is, an enlarged perspective view of my improved bottle'holder mounted on a bottle.
Fig. 3 is a further enlarged side elevation,
partly broken away of what is shown in v Fig. '2;
Similar reference characters designate similar parts in the different views.
I provide a bottle container comprising the following described parts ,1- designates a belt, preferabl elastic,
' adapted to embrace the body 2 o a bottle,
such as an ordinary nursing bottle.
A band 3 is attached at one end to one side of the belt 1. 4 The band is also atltached to the diametrically opposite side of the belt 1 and forms with the latter a loop 4. The other end of the band 3 extends beyond the belt 1 and has attached to it the ends of a member 5 which is doubled on itself and is ada ted to embrace the neck 6 of the bottle. T e band 3 and member 5 are preferably elastic, whereby the container will accommodate itself to nursing bottles of different sizes.
For supporting the bottle 2 in a position of easy accessto an infant ina crib 7-, Fig.
1, I provide a supporting member comprising preferably an elastic strap 8, which extends through and is longitudinally slidable in and is pinched and yieldingly held by the loop 4, as shown in Fig. 3. Each end of the strap 8 is doubled upon itself to form a loopv 9, in which is mounted a flexible securing member, such as a. string 10, Fig. 2 The strings 10 may be attached respectively to opposite sides 11' of the crib, or, as shown in Fig. 1, the end portions of the strap 8 may be looped over the side bars of the crib and the strings 10 then tied around the strap so as to secure the latter to the crib.
By sliding the bottle and its container longitudinally on the strap 8, the bottle may be placed in any position convenient for the infant.
By having the strap 8 elastic, the strap may accommodate itse f to cribs of different widths, and the resiliency of the tightly drawn strap, when mounted on the crib, will lift the bottle clear of the infant when the latter has released the nipple of the bottle.
' I do not limit my invention to the structure shown and described, as many modifications, within the sco e of the appended claim, maybe made witliout departing from a the spirit of my invention.
What I claim is In a bottle holder of the kinddescribed, a flexible band adapted to encircle a bottle, a second band adapted to embrace the bottom and sides of the bottle and attached to the first band at opposite sides thereof, the second band being attached transversely to the first band at one side thereof only at the edges of the latter, whereby at-this point the two bands form a loop, and a strap slidably extending through said loop and adapted to have its ends attached to opposite sides respectively of a crib.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
PHILIP CARDARELLA.
