Application filed Gctober lily invention .relates lo prii'iting presses, preferably the type known as a Gordon press, and the method of using the saine, and an object of my improvements is to provide a method and improved apparatus that shall print upon both sides of a sheet in one operation of the press.

I secure this object in the apparatus illustrated in the accompanying dra-Wings in which- Figure l, is a side vieuY of a printing press of usual construction and embodying my invention therein and illust-rating its operation.

The printed cart is removed and a blank card g is placed in position after each operation of the press.

Vilhat I claim is l. In a printing press, two opposed surfaces, each bearing type adapted to print upon a sheet, and each bearing` a platen surface, type forms and platen surfaces being opposed to each other, a frisltet adapted to support the sheet to be printed on between said surfaces With opposite surfaces of the sheet exposed to said type, and means for supporting said sheet upon said frishet as described.

2. ln a printing press, two opposed surfaces, each bearing type adapted to print upon a sheet, and each bearing a platen surface, type forms and platen surfaces being opposite to each other, a frisltet, having an opening therein adapted to permit the action of the type, interposed between said surfaces, an inking ribbon, means for supporting said ribbon adjacent to said frisket opposite said opening, inling rollers adapted to ink the type on one of said surfaces and a support upon the side of said frislrct toward the inhing rollers, adapted to hold a sheet over said opening while lfreug printed upon, the type on the other of said surfaces being adapted to act tln'ougli said opening and said ribbon.
