Referring to the drawings, and more par-y ticularly to Figs. 1 to 7 thereof, the embodi ment ot the invention shown therein conia casing 10 having a central cylindrii cal pocket or cavity 11, and at each side there are formed cylindrical bores or passages 12 and 13, opposed toeach other and encroacliing on the pocket 11. A combination lock ot the character described, comprising' a locking` member having spaced notches, a casing having a passage in which to receive said locking member, and a plurality ot' superposed contacting movable members carried by said casing, each having a portion of less thickness than the member adapted to engage a notch oi said lockingl member, and each having a releasing portion which in one position ot the movable member registers with the locking member', so to allow it to move, said tirst mentioned portion and said releasing; portion adapted to respectively limit the movement ot the respective members to a, partial movement in two directions, said members adapted in one moved position to register said releasing portions with said locking member'.

A combination lock ot the character described, comprising a locking member having spaced notches, a. casinghaving a passage in which to receive said locking member, and a plurality ot snperposed contacting movable members carried by said casing, each having a portion of less thickness than the member disposed medially between the upper and lower surta-ces ot the member and adapted to engage a notch of said locking member, and each having a releasing portion which in `one position ot the movable member registers with the locking` member,

A combination lock of the character described, comprising a shackle having spaced parallel notched limbs, a casing having passages in which to receive the limbs oit the shackle, and a plurality of identical superposed movable members carried by said casing,` arranged to engage the notches of the shackle limbs, each member having a releasing portion adapted in one position ot the member to register with 'a shackle limb, so as to allow it to move, means limiting` said members to partial movement in two directions, said members adapted in one or the other ot said moved positions to register said releasing portions with said shackle limbs, said members adapted by reversal about two diameters at right angles to each other to be operative upon either limb and in either direction of movement.

A combination lock of the character decribed, connprisingg` a locking member having` spaced notches, a casing,` having; a passage in which to receive said locking member, and a plurality ot snperposed rotatable members carried by said casing', arranged to engage the notches ot said locking` member, each having a releasing portion which in one position of the rotatable member registers with the locking member, so as to allow it to move, and each having diametrically opposed operating; means, adapted by reversal ot said member about a diameter at right angles to the line of said operating means l er:
to render said member operative by movement in either one of two directions, and means limitingi said members to partial rotation in two directions.

A combination lock of the character described, comprising a locking member havingl spaced notches, a casing havingl a passa-ge in which to receive said-locking member, and a plurality ot' super-posed rotatable members carried by said casing, arranged to engage the notches ol' said locking member, each having a releasing portion whichV in one position ot' the rotatable member registers with the lockingmember, so as to allow it to move, and each having diametrically opposed operating means, adapted by reversal or" said member about a diameter at right angles to the line of said operating means to render said member operative by movement in either one ont two directions, said casing having a concealed slot for receiving the operating means at one side of said members, and a diametrically opposed exposed slot for receiving` the operating means at the other side, said members being limited to partial rotation in two directions.
