E. E. BELLOIR CAR WASHING DEVICE 'mmy .1,
' BY I M ATTORNEYS.
Patented Nov. 16, 1926 outrun STATES EARL E. BELLOIE, OF BLACK DIAMOND, WASHINGTON.
' CAR-WASHING IDE'VZlIGE.
Application filed May 15, 1925,Serial No. 30,576. Renewed May 1,1926.
This invention relates to hand washing devices designed more particularly for use intribute the washing fluid over the surface be-' ing cleaned.
, The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in Wh1ch:
Figure 1 a view in elevation with parts in section of the improved hand washingv deviceQ p V Figure 2 is a detail elevation of the receptacle. r
The improved hand washing implement comprises a receptacle 1 preferably of bag form and more or less resilient or yielding, such for example'as would follow the construction of a receptacleof rubber, leather or the like. The receptacle is in the for-1n ot' a hot water bottle and the wall 2'thereot' is formed with a series of apertures 4 of comparatively small diameter to permitthe' cleansing fluid to flow from the interior of .the receptacle to the exterior in a plurality of'streams. v i I The interior of the receptacle is formed with aplurality ot' longitudinally extending ribs 3 which extend inwardly from the wall and serve to preventthe complete 001- lapse o'f'the receptacle under any possible pressure in its use as a washing implement. The outer surface of the receptacle is formed with a seriesof ribs 5' and an absorbent material such as asponge' or cloth 6 is arranged about the exterior of the receptacle overlying the ribs'5.
at one end with which communicates a' corn veying'tube 8 having a restricted passage 9. in a portion thereof, the flow of fluid through which is controlled by the valve 10 operable by the stem 11 projecting exteriorly oft-he tube and adapted for manual control. The tube S is provided with a loop 12 of the size toflt over the arm of the 1159?,30 that the cleaning implement may be suspended adjacent to his hand for convenient grasping when desired. 'Tl1e tube 8 is preferably connected through the universal coupling 13 to which leads a supply tube Ll preferably of greater diameter than the tube 8; V
In use, the operator by grasping thein'i'-' plement either directly or through the-medrum of the flexible handle 15 connected thereto controls the valve 10 to admit water itemize Tsar I arms;
or other cleansing fluid to the receptacle to the desired extent This fluid finding its way through the openingsin the wall of the receptacle saturates the absorbent material and permits the application of the fluid to p the surface to be cleaned in a ready, convenient and even manner. It is of course apparent that through the control of the flow of the fluid the operator may arrange the washing action and fluid therefor to suit conditions of the surface to be cleaned, and
as the receptacle as a whole is readily yield ing, it is apparent that obstructions on the surface being cleaned will be fully and completely reached without liability of marring or scratching; v V r What is claimed as new is V r- V A hand washing implement including a flexible container formed with ribs arranged interiorly ot" the container to prevent complete collapse of the receptacle ribs arranged exteriorly of the container, absorbent material overlying the said ribs and having holding cooperation therewith, a
p source of supply of washing-fluid, and means lhe receptacle is formed with an inlet 7 for'controlling the supply of washing fluid to the interior of thecontainer. 1 Y v y In test mony whereof I afiix my signature.
