FORM CLAMP.

This invention relates to clamps used in the erection of forms for concrete columns.
In clamps heretofore in use it was necessary to accurately out the lumber compris ng the form so that there were no pro ecting edges, this required a great deal of time and eifort and constituted a heavy loss in the pieces of wood, which were cut oif.
An object of my invention is to provide a clamp which will securely hold the various pieces in position, irrespective of how far they project beyond the edge of the form.
Another object is to utilize different sized boards in the form without waste or cutting.
A further object is to provide a clamp which is simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and effective in operation.
Other objects, advantages and features of invention may appear in the accompanying drawing, the subjoined detailed description and the appended claims.

Fig. 1, is a plan view of my clamp in operative position.
Fig. 2, is an edge view of one of the clamp members.
Fig. 3 is a side view of a wedge.
Referring more particularly to the drawing; my clamp comprises four interlocking members 1, 2, 3, 4 which are arranged around the wooden form 5. The form is assembled from boards of various widths, and the boards project beyond the edges of the form as shown at 6.
Each of the members 1 to 4 inclusive are identical in construction, so only one will be described in detail ;a lock bar 7 is formed of a strip of metal and extends along one side of the form 5. An 0E set 8 is formed at one end ofthe bar 7 by bending said bar at an angle to the main portion thereof. The purpose of the oflset 8 is to accommodate the projections 6.
A pair of spaced arms 910 are formed or secured to the end of the oifset 8 and said arms extend parallel to the bar 7. The bar 7 ofthe adjacent form member is adapted to extend between the arms 9, 10 and is held in position therebetween by a pin 11 which enters one of the inclined notches 12 in the edge of the bar. Thus it will be seen that the bar 7 may readily be adjusted in the arms 9, 10 to accommodate difierent sized forms.

To look the clamp securely about the form a wedge 13 is driven into one of the notches 12 and into notches 14 in the arms 9, 10. The wedges 13 are only provided on diagonally opposite corners of the clamp thus wedging the members 1, 2, 3 and 4 tightly againstthe form 5. I find that with my clamp it is possible to assemble a form with the use of but very few nails, thus enabling the boards to be more readily salvaged, for reuse.
Having described my invention I claim:
1. A form clamp comprising a plurality of members adapted to interlock to hold the form, said members comprising a bar, an offset on the end of said bar to accommodate projections on the form and means on said members whereby they interlock each with the other.
2. A form clamp comprising a plurality of members adapted to interlock to hold the form, said members comprising a bar, an 011'- set on the end of said bar to accommodate projections on the form, a pair of spaced arms on the end of said offset between which the adjacent member extends and means on said bar and arms whereby they interlock each with the other.
3. A form clamp comprising a plurality of members adapted to interlock to hold the form, said members comprising a bar, an offset on the end of said bar to accommodate project-ions on the form, a pair of spaced arms on the end of said offset between which the adjacent member extends a pin extending between said spaced arms, said bars having notches therein in which said pin is adapted to fit, and wedge means engaging said bar and arms.
4. A form clamp comprising a plurality of members adapted to interlock to hold the form, said members comprising a bar, an offset on the end of said bar to accommodate projections on the form, a pair of spaced arms on the end of said offset between which. the adjacent member extends a pin cxending between said spaced arms, said bars having notches therein in which said pin is adapted to fit, said arms having a notch formed therein and a wedgeadapted to enter the notch in the arms and a notch in the bar.
