IMPROVEMENT IN STREET-SIGNS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [59,550, dated February 9, 1875; application filed January 18, 1875.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE B. KING, of Lawrence, in the county of Essex, State of Massachusetts, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Street Signs, of

which the following is a description sufficicntly full, clear, and exact to enable any person skilled in the art or science to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a plan, and Fig. 2 an isometrical perspective View.

My invention relates more especially to that class of street-signs which are designed to be attached to or supported by lamp-posts; and consists in a novel construction and arrangement of the parts, as hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed, by which a simpler,

cheaper, and more effective device of this description is produced than is now in ordinary use.

The extreme simplicity of my invention renders an elaborate description unnecessary.

It will be obvious that the collet C may be readily fitted to lamp-posts already erected,

in such a manner that its signs will correspond with the direction of the streets, and also that any number of signs desired may be supported V in this manner.
