inis invention relates to ink stands and particularly to an embedded ink stand for use on desks, tables and other desired places and has for an object to provide a construction Which will not only require minimum space but which will be out of the Way When using the desk.
Another object in vievv is to provide an embedded ink stand in Which removable ink Wells may be used.
lAnother object of the invention is to provide an ink stand having an embedded structure for carrying removable ink Wells and for supporting pencils and other articles below the surface of the desk or other support carrying the ink stand.
ln, the accompanying drawingH Figure 1 is a perspective view of a table with an ink stand embodying the invention applied thereto.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal vertical section hrgugh Figure 1 approximately on line Figure 3 is a. transverse sectional view through Figure l on line 3 3.
Reterring to the accompanying drawings by numeral, 5 indicates a table of any desire-d kind which is cut out to provide recesses 6 and 7, said recesses merging at one point as indicated in Figure 2 so as to accommodate both the pencil section 8 and the ink Well section 9. The stand is provided with grooved body 10 and in the grooves pencils or other articles may be placed, said body being also provided With a depression 11 for receiving an eraser or other desired article. At the opposite end of the body 1()v to the depression 11 is arranged the ink Well section 9 positioned above the cut-out portion or cavity 7 in Which the ink Wells l2 and 13 are positioned. The section 9 is provided Withl an annular groove or notch 14 which is adapted to receive the frame 15, said frame having openings 16 and 17 designed to be closed by the. lids 18 and 19 slidingly mounted in grooves Jformed by the turned in flanges 2O of the iframe 15. Each of these lids is provided vvith a turned up section 21 whereby the lid may be readily slid back and forth to cover or uncover the ink Wells arranged therebeneath. rlhis construction adapts itself to a desk, table or the like wherein a number of articles are arranged on the table and are adapted to be shifted from place to place.
It Will be noted that an article may be readily moved over the ink stand Without disturbing any of the contents Whilel at the same time the ink stand `is ready for use continually. Also, it Will be noted that the trame 15 may be bodily removed at any time for removing or re-inserting the ink Wells 12 and 13.
What I claim is 1. An embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times no part will be projected above the material in which it is embedded, said ink stand and rack comprising a body having depressions for receiving articles, said depressions being arranged in one part of the body, said body at the opposite end being provided with a large opening, a cover removably fitted into said large opening, said cover having spaced apertures, and a covering plate carried by the frame for each aperture.
2. An embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times no part Will project above the material in which it is embedded, said ink stand and rack comprising a body having an opening adjacent one end, a bodily removable trame arranged in said opening formed With a plurality of apertures and inturned flanges adjacent said apertures, and a sliding cover lifor each of said apertures, said sliding covers being supported by said flanges and acting to normally close said apertures.
3. An embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times no part Will project above the material in which it is embedded, said ink stand and rack comprising a body having depressions for receiving articles, said depressions being arranged in one part-J oii the body, said body at the 'opposite end being provided With a large opening, a covering frame fitted into said large opening, said covering frame having spaced apertures arranged therein, and a sliding cover carried by the frame for each aperture.
4. An embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times no part will project above the material in which it is embed-ded, said ink stand and rack comprising a iframe adapted at one end to cover an ink Well and at the other end to receive articles, said article receiving end being formed with a lurality of depressions, said depressions eing adapted to re ceive different articles so that they Will be below the surface of the ink stand and rack,
llO
and the end covering the ink Well having a aperture, said apertured end being provided With a sliding cover for said aperture Whereby said inl: well may be Covered or exposed at will.
5. An embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times nopart Will project above the material in which it is embedded, said ink stand and rack comprising a body formed with a plurality of sockets or depressions for receiving articles, and an aperture for exposing an ink ivell, a bodily removable Covering plate tor Said aperture, Said covering plate having an opening therein, and a shiftable member carried by the covering plate adapted to normally close said opening.
6. An embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times no part will project above the material in which it is embedded, said ink Stand and rack comprising a body having longitudinally arranged grooves for receiving pencils and the like, a groove at one end for receiving an article, and an opening at the opposite end, a covering 'frame arranged in said opening provided with an aperture, and a sliding lid for noi-mall)7 closing Said apertune.
T. n embedded ink stand and rack formed to be embedded so that at all times no part will project above the material in which it is embedded, Said ink stand and rack comprising a body Jformed with a plurality of grooves ior receiving pencils and other articles, an opening at the opposite portion to the portion Carryingr said groovee, a covering frame arranged in Said opening provided with an aperture. and a Shiftable lid for normally closing said aperture.
