TERMINAL CLIP.

Zo'all whom it may concern:
Be, it known that I, DAVID K. KUsKIN, a citizen of" the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and usefulImprovements in Terminal Clips, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to binding clips, posts, or fastening devices for the terminals of electrical conductors and consists in the pombination and arrangements of elements hereinafter described and particularly set forth in the accompanying claims.
The invention has for its purpose to provide a device of this character adapted to receive with a proper fit, a'conductorwire of any diameter, and wherein said wire may be readily applied to or removed from the clip.
A further purpose resides in providing a terminal clip having these advantages and which will securely hold the conductor in lirmly gripped or clamped position, readily permitting the installation and removal of the conductor and insuring proper electrical contact at all times between the conductor and the fastening device.
The invention is further characterized in that the clip is especially adapted for that type of work wherein a large number of clips are mounted on a terminal block in close proximity" to the end that the respective conductors will not interfere with each other, and may beseparately applied to position or removed at wili' The invention is shown by way of illustration in the accompanying drawings wherein:

Referring to the construction in further detail, and wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts in the dif-" ferent views shown, a designates the base portion of the clip and6 and 7 the integral portions thereof which provide the receiving and securing members respectively for the conductor wire G. Said base and the portions 6 and *7 are constructed from a single'inetal strip, as shown, and the device is adapted tobe mounted on the block or other support 8 by a screw threaded member 9 or other fustening means.
The portion 6 is twisted as at 10 to provide a projecting and rightangulai.' exte'nsion 11 thatisbifurcated by the angular or wedge shaped slot 12 to receive the ,conductor terminal 0 that is inserted lateralwise. The purpose ofthe form of slot shown is that the same may receive with a perfect fit and 4 give proper contact to a conductor wire 0" of any diameter. In other words, the terminal clip is, designed to receive various,
conductor wires of any size and which assures that proper contact will be maintained.
The retaining portion-7 is bent downwardly and upwardly as at13 and 14, andbifur cated as at 15 to provide upturned hook members which engage with the terminal wire and hold the same rigidly within the slot 12 of the terminal portion 11, as shown (see Figs. 2 and 3).
In operation the portion 7 is first depressed and the wire C inserted and upon release the hook portion 1a will engage and hold the wire firmly within the slot.
The hook engaging portions G afford the necessary contacting surface for the terminal wire and securely hold said wire against accidental displacement from the device, but readily permit of its insertion and removal.
It will be understood of course that the invention is not limited to the details of construction and arrangement herein set forth in asmuch as various modifications may be made therein without departing from the invention within the scope of the claim.
What is claimed as new is:
vA terminal clip comprising a resilient strip having a base portion, an extension portion twisted longitudinally at substantially right angles to the base portion, and an arcuate portion curved upwardly from said base portion-and terminating with downwardly extending hooked fingers, said twisted portion having a V-shaped slot opening through the end edge thereof for the reception of the terminal, and said hooked fingers being. adapted to straddle said extension portion for the purpose of engaging and holding the terminal in said; slot, substantially as set forth.
