Be it known that I, JOHN T. LELAND, re-

siding at Herman, county of Grant, and;

State of Minnesota, a citizen of the United States, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Collapsible Tubes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

My invention relates to collapsible tubes adapted for containing paint and like pasty or semi-liquid substances andto be caused to expel their contents by squeezing the tubes. invention has for its object to provide a double or compound tube of this general character adapted to hold, separately, two distinct compounds and to expel both at the same time so that they may readily be mixed together in dgfinite proportions. A further object of my invention is to provide a nozzle for such double or compound tubes having separate openings in it for the discharge of the separate compounds and a single cap adapted to close both discharge openings.

In the drawings 2 indicates the outer or larger tube and 1 indicates the inner or smaller tube. These tubes are formed of the usual soft metal commonly used for paint tubes and the like. 3 indicates the shoulder.

At one side of the nozzle 4 a dischar e opening 10 is formed in the shoulder 3 the discharge opening being relatively long In roportion to its width so that the material orced through it will be discharged in'the form of a ribbon.

The screw cap 6 is formed with a flange or arm 11 adapted to fit over and close the dlscharge opening 10 when the cap is screwed into place.

The double collapsible tube thus described is particularly adapted and intended for containing and delivering as wanted for use, the two compounds which together form the dentifrice described and claimed in an application for patent filed by me August 17, 1922, Serial No. 582,592 the inner tube 1 containing a compound including as one of its ingredients, iodine, and the outer tube containing acompound including'a sodium compound such as sodium chloride, and starch. When the cap 6 is removed pressure on the outer tube will cause its contents to be discharged through the opening 10 in the form of a ribbon ontoasuitably placed tooth brush, as shown in Figure 5, and at the same time through the pressure transmitted to the inner tube through the contents of the outer tube, the inner tube will'be caused to discharge its contents in a small stream onto the fiat ribbon discharged from the openfrom the inner tube combines at once with the sodium compound of the ribbon discharged ,from the outer tube to form sodium iodide and at the same time will combine with the starch to form iodide of starch which has a characteristic blue color.

It will of course be understood that-I do not desire to be limited to the use of the double collapsible tube for dentifrices as it. may obviously be used wherever it is found desirable to keep two substances separate but mix them together at the instant of use.

Having thus described my invention what I claim is:

1. A double collapsible tube comprising an outer tube havin a central neck rtion having an opening t erethrou h, an a discentrally disposed inner tube having a central nozzle adapted to extendthrough the opening in the neck of the outer tube.

A double collapsible tube comprising anouter tube havin a central neck ortion having an opening t erethrough, an a discharge opening at one side thereof, and a centrally disposed inner tube having a central nozzle adapted to extend through the opening in the neck of the outer tube, and a cap for closing the discharge opening of the inner tube and provided with a depending lip adapted to close the discharge opening of the outer tube,
