DRIER' FORM.

To all lwhom it may concern: v

Be it known that I, ANN G. DoYLE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of yIllinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drier Forms, of which the following is a specification.

The invention relates to drier forms upon which an article of clothing such for example as a glove may be placed while beingdried. 4 v

The primary object of the invention is to provide a drier form which will keep the article of clothing, such for example, asV

a glove, in its proper or normal shape and prevent shrinking or twisting while being ,-dried.

A further object of the invention is to provide a drier form upon which a glove,

for example, m-ay be placed and dried by lieat applied to theV interior of the form.

A further object of the invention is to provide a drier form u on which a glove or the like may be quick y dried 'and be free of wrinkles when removed from the form after drying.

A further object of the invention isk to provide a drier form that maybe readily attached to electric wiring systems such as are commonly found in dwellings, hotels,

apartment houses and the like. v

A further object of the invention is to provide a drier form that will be light and Y one that can .be readily packed in a trunk or rip for use when traveling.

still further object of the invention is to provide a drier form that will be efficient, durable and economical of manufacture.

Other objects of the invention will wppear from the following; description which is di` rected to the preferred embodiment thereof,

reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of the specification,

the features of novelty being pointed out more particularly in the appended claims.

The invention contemplates a hollows'helllike form made of any suitable material with an suitable heating element placed therewit in for supglying heat for drying purposes and lmay molded or stampe from sheet Imetal with its component parts riveted or otherwise secured together. aluminum and preferably inl two sections stamped from a thin sheet of aluminum and the sections riveted together. An electric heating coil is provided within the form for supplying heat for rapidly drying a glove placed over the form.

The body or arm portion `of the improved glove drier form as illustrated in the drawings comprises a bottom section 10 and a top section 11. Plate 12, which may be made of asbestos, micaor any suitable insulating material, is secured to section 11 in any' suit- .f conductor rods 16, 17 as at 18, 19, the conductor rods being attached at their opposite ends to service wires 20, 21 of insulated cable 22 which is provided with screw threaded plug 36 for screw threaded en- 29 and 3() through sections 10 and 11 res ctively for the reception therethrough o tie pins 31, when the parts are assembled as shown in Fig. 2. While in the drawings the tie pins 31 are shown in the formof rivets, it is obvious that these pins may be made in the form of bolts screv.7 threaded at their outer ends for engagement. with one of the sections for properly securing the sections together in a detachable manner. Sections l0 and il have pertorations 32 in the thumb and linger portions thereof for the escape of the heated air from the interior of the form, and apertures 38 in the handle portion Sept the drier form forming air inlet ports therein. The provision of outlet ports for the heated air from Within the drier form and inlet ports for the admission of atmospheric air to the interior of the drier form results in a continuous circulation of air .through the form, Which greatly kincreases the process of evaporation of moisture from a Wet glove placed on the form to be dried.

In Fig. 4 of the drawings is shown a moditied form of the invention. in which the body portion of the glove drier form is cast in one piece 35 of any suitable material.

It Will be appreciated that a glove drier form made of thin aluminum and in accordance with the foregoing disclosure will `be light and can be conveniently carried in a trunk or suitcase when travelling and can be readily attached to the electric system of a hotel or the like for immediate use.

In the employment of my improved drier form the form is grasped by the handle 34 and a glove to be dried is placed on the form with the linger portions thereof extending into the ngers of the glove and the forearm portion of the glove drawn downwardly over the form when the form with the glove thereon may be laid on a support such as a table, dresser or the like and the electrical connection made with the electric system in a hotel room or the like, When the glove will be perfectly dried Within a few minutes and the electrical connection may be broken. The glove drier form being made of aluminum will quickly give olf its heat and become cool When the glove may be safely removed therefrom Without danger of burning the hand or the user. A glove dried in this manner when removed from the drier form Will be found to be free of Wrinkles and to have maintained its normal and proper shape.

It will be apparent that a soiled glove may be placed over Ithe form and cleaned with a liquid cleaner and the heating element Within the form operated for drying the glove. A

In order that the invention might be understood, I have shown the details of the preferred embodiments of my invention, but it is not desired to be limited to the mere details of construction, for it will be apparent that persons skilled in the art may resort to various modifications without departing from the purpose and spirit of the invention.

I claim:

l. A drier form comprising two sections of stamped metal, ears carried by the respective sections having openings therethrough, there being corresponding openings in said sections registering with the openings in said ears, and rivets Apassing throu h all of said openings for securing said sect1ons together.

2. A drier form comprising two sections having apertures through the Walls thereof, ears carried by the walls of the sections and having apertures therethrough, the apertures through the Walls of the sections and the apertures through the ears carried by the Walls of the sections having securing members therethrough for securing the sections together, and an electrically heated element secured to one of said sections and held in spaced relation thereto for heating said drier.
