Description
Patented June 9 1925.
UNITED STATES AMOS PIERCE AV'ER of ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA.
comnmairron GOLF-TEE BLOCK.
Application filed November 22, 1923. Serial No. 676,356.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Amos PIERCE AVERY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of St. Petersburg, county of Pinellas, and State of Florida, have invented a new and useful Combination Golf-Tee Block, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in 10 artificial golf tees, theobject of the inventor being to provide: 1 (1) An artificial golf tee which will eliminate the making and placing of a natural tee. (2) A combination of artificial golf tees of diflferent heights to accommodate golf players, both left andright handed, of varied ability. 7
(3) To provide a device of this character which will be simple, practical, economica and durable both in construction and use. I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Fig. 1 is a plan view of entire combina- 5 tion golf teeblock;
Fig. 2, a side elevation; Fig.3, an end elevation; 'Fig. 4, a vertical cross section through center line of one elevation showing de-- tailed view of top surface.
1 have been made. I
Similar numerals refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The golf tee block proper 1, from which arise the several elevations, or tees 2 which parts are a one and inseparable unit, all composed of a firm but resilient substance, is fastenedand secured to wood base5 by means of screws and screw holes 4.
Each elevation or tee is provided with a depression or slot 3, the purpose of such 40 depressions being to provide a cup or resting place for golf ball. a
In actual use golf tee proper 1 fastened to wood base 5 is set in earth in such manner as to permit only the elevations or tees 2 to protrude above the ground.
I am aware that prior to my invention artificial golf tees of the single tee variety therefore do not claim an individual artificial tee, but I claim:
A golf tee block having a plurality of tees of differentheights provided with depressions forming ball seats, said tee block comprisin an embedded block and resilient tee base xedly secured to the upper surface thereof, said tees being integral with said base.
' AMOS PIERCE AVERY.
