A. M GINNIS GAME DEVICE- Filed July 15, 1921 in II ii iEI: mu l firm namzs ha /1W Patented Mar. 10, 1925.
UNITED "ST-Ares ARTHUR MeGINNIS, on NEW YORK, N. Y.
GAME DEVICE;
Application filed Ju1y15, 1921.- Serial No. 485,002.
To all whom it may concern: 7
Be it known that I, ARTHUR MoGINNIs, a citizen of the United States, and residing at New York, in the county of New fYork and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Devices, of which the following is a specification, such as .will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. 7
This invention relates to game devices, and the object thereof is to provide an improved device of this class which is simple in construction, inexpensive and designed to amuse both old and young.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification of which the accom can in drawin forms a art in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which Fig. 1 is a side view of a device of the class specified involving my invention; and Fig. 2 a plan view thereof. The general structure of my improved game device is similar to that of an ordinary top as shown at a, and said device comprises an oblong body portion a the bottom of which is tapered or rounded to form a spinning point a and the rim of the top portion is rounded or beveled as shown at a, and said top portion is provided with a central projecting pin a whereby the top may be spun in the usual manner.
The oblong body portion a is provided with a plurality of longitudinal faces a", said faces, in the form of construction shown, being eight in number, and placed on these faces, in the construction shown, are the names of eight of the cards of an ordinary deck of playing cards, the cards selected, in this case, being ace, king, queen, jack, ten, nlne, eight and seven.
In playing the game a score card 1s provided in the usual manner, said card being provided with a column for each player, and said card is also preferably provided with the names of the different cards employed and adjacent to which are. placed numerals representin the value given to said cards in the play ng of the game.
In playing the game, supposing that.

A'
game mayconsist, however, of a number of rounds of spinning the top in which each player engages, and ,if said number of rounds are fixed as five, the spinning of the top is continued until each player has spun the top five times, and each spinning of the top by any player is counted" on the score card in the manner above described, and at the end of the five rounds of spinning the top, the score card is footed up and the] party making the highest number of points wins the game. i
It will be understood that my invention is not limited toany particular eight cards in a pack of cards nor tolany particular value given to said cardin'. counting the game, nor to any particular method of play- I 7 ing said game, and changes in and modifications of the construction or arrangement of parts herein shown and describedand 1n the method'of playing the game, as herein set out, may be made, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of my invention, or sacrificing its advantages.
Having fully described my invention,
