The invention has relation to soft shirt collars and has for its object to sti'l'l'cn the saine whereby to retain the predetermined shape when worn so as to present a neat and tidjv appearance and admit of the stiffener being readily detached when the collar is to be laundered and quiclilv replaced af* 1' the collar has been laundered and otherwise iu condition to worn.

This stifl'ener maintains the shape of the collar when worn and be easilyY removed when the collar is to be laundered and quickly placed in position after the coliar has been laundered and is otherwise in condition to be worn. A hooi; 6 and companion eve 7 are applied to opposite ends of the stiffener and serve to secure the same and prevent detachment of the collar therefrom, ln addition to the hoolr. and eve, other eyes 8 are applied to end portions of the stiffener and are designed to receive hooks Si applied to the ends of a n ecktie l0, whereby to hold the latter in place when formed into a bow, thereby obviatiugr the necessity of passing' the neclrtie around the collar and tying the same which frequently causes inconvenience and trouble.

That is claimed is:

A folding or turndovvn soft collar having; pockets at opposite ends of the neclband, a stitfener insertable between the folds of the collar and having its ends inserted in the said pockets, and conipleniental fastening means applied to corresponding ends of the stitlfener and to a necktie to retain the latter in place.
