NECKTIE HANGER AND SUPPORT THEREFOR.

DZURAK, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Bayonne, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie Hangers and Supports Therefor, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in necktie hanger and support therefor.

An important object of the invention is to provide a necktie hanger which embodies novel attaching means to enable the hanger to be attached to an object regardless of the position `of said object.

Another important object of this invention is to provide a device of the above mentioned character, which may be formed of vary few parts, easily and quickly assembled and one that may be made by any person possessing only a small amount of mechanical skill.

Other objects and advantages will readily become apparent during the course of the following description, in which- Figure 1 is a fragmentary side elevational view showing my necktie hanger attached to a horizontal support,

Figure 2 is a fragmentary plan view of the same,

Figure 3 is a fragmentary side elevational view of my necktie hanger attached to a vertical support, and

Figure L1 is a fragmentary perspective view of the attaching hook and hanger.

Referring to the drawing in detail in which is shown a preferred embodiment of my 1nvention wherein like reference characters designate like parts throughout the several views, the numeral 5 indicates a U-shaped bracket member having screw-tlneadedly mounted therein a clamping member 6, provided with a foot 7 adapted to be engaged with a horizontally disposed supporting member 8. The screw-threaded clamping member 6 is further provided with a thumb nut 9 which is adapted to engage one arm of the bracket 5.

Secured to the bracket 5 by means of bolts 1() is another U-shaped bracket 11 which is held in spaced relation to the bracket 5 by means of a bushing 12. It is to be understood that the bracket 11 is free to rotate on the bolt 10, but may be clamped in any position desired by means of a. thumb nut 13 carried by the bolt 10. The U-shaped bracket 11 is provided in each of its projecting arms with apertures 14, the purpose of which will hereinafter be more fully described.

Horizontally pivotally connected to the bracket 11 is my improved hanger `which is especially adapted for the hanging of neckties or the like thereon, and is formed of a single strand of wire. As clearly shown in Fig. 1, the wire is bent downwardly to form a depending pivoting arm 15 which engages the aperture 14 formed in the upper arm of the bracket 11. The wire is next bent at a point 16 to form a depending U-shaped portion 17. The wire is next extended upwardly to a point 1S and then bent downwardly upon itself, as clearly shown in Fig. 4f, to form a partition 19. The wire is then formed into a series of horizontal portions 2O and dividing partitions 19 as clearly shown in Fig. 1. Any number of partitions may be made, and when the last partition 19 is formed the wire is extended from a point 21 on an acute angle, with regards to the horizontal portion as shown at 21', to a point 22 where it is bent perpendicularly as at 22 and passed through the lower part of the U-shaped por tion 17 and bent downwardly against tself as at 23 to the point 22 where a single turn is made about the.perpendicular portion to form a more or less rigid structure as clearly shown in Fig. 4. The wire is next bent to form a depending pivoting arm 211 which engages the aperture 14: formed in the lower arm of the bracket 11.

In Fig. et of the drawing is shown the manner of mounting the hanger on a vertical support as shown at 25. It will be seen that due to the pivotal connection between the brackets 11 and 5, the hanger member may still be moved through a horizontal plane for the purpose of allowing the same to be swung into an unobstructed position.

Apertures 26 are provided in the U-shaped bracket 11 adapting said U-shaped bracket to be aflixed to a wall or the like by means of screws or nails, in case it is deemed desirable to use the device independently and apart from the bracket 5.

It is believed that the use of my improved hanger will be readily apparent from the foregoing detail description, and it is to be understood that various changes in the shape, size, and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing frein the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claims.

Having thus described iny invention, I claim 1. In a necktie hanger, a clamping` bracket, a U-shaped supporting' bracket having openings formed in the side legs thereof and swiveled to the bracketl at the niiddle portion thereof, hanger means iorined from a single strand of Wire associated With the supporting bracket, portions of said Wire bent upon itsell to forni dividingl partitions and intervening horizontal portions and a portion of said Wire strand being); bent at an acute angle in respect to the horizontal portions to forni a brace for said horizontal portions and dividing partitions, and leg extensions carried by the ends of the horizontal and bracing sections of the. hanger to be received in the openings in the bracket legs. 2. In a necktie hanger, a clamping bracket, a supporting bracket pivotally niounted on the clan'ipingbracket, and a hanger formed of a single strand of Wire properly bent to provide an upper horizontal rod, a lower inclined brace rod, spaced perpendicular extensions on the upper rod, and depending extension pins at the inner ends of the upper and lower rods pivotally mounted in the arins of the supporting` bracket for permitting,` the hanger to be pivoted iniespect to the supporting bracket.
