Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
WILLIAM O. CROCKER, OF TURNERS FALLS, MASSACHUSETTS.
IMPROVEMENT IN EGG-BEATERS.
Specification forming part of Lette-rs Pate-nt No. 15 1,761, dated June 9, 1874; application tiled April 25, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLiAM O. GRocKEa, of Turners Falls, in the county of Franklin and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Egg-Beaters,
of which the following is a speciiication:
The inventionwill rst be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure l is a side view. Fig. 2 is a section of Fig. l, taken on the line x w.
lSimilar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This egg-beater consists of a stock, A,which has an arborpin thereon; a driving-wheel, l), on the arbor-pin, to which Wheel a crank is attached. E is the pinion which engages with the drivingwheel. The pinion revolves on the spindle F, and the rotary beater G is att-ached thereto. The spindle on which the pinion and rotary beater revolve is held staf tionary in the stock A, and in position by the set-screw C. B is the stationary frame, which is rigidly attached to the spindle. This frame is prevented from turning by the iiL nge or lip l on the end of the stock A. ff are bows, on which the egg-beater rests, on the bottom of the-vessel where the beater is used.
It Will'be seen that, by turning back the set-screw C, the spindle, the stationary frame, and the rotary beater are readily removed from the stock for cleaning or for other purposes.
The frame B surrounds the rotary beater G, and serves to out the egg as the beater revolves Within it, and greatly to facilitate the operation of beating eggs.
The present invention is-mueh more simple and cheap than that described in former patent,` While it is quite as efficient as an eggbeater.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by LettersPatent- The combination of stock A, having lip d,
the frame B, and the spindle F, with the setscrew O, in the manner specified, so that each is properly held for Work, while, by simply turning back the screw, the said parts may all be separated and cleaned.
' WILLIAM O. CROGKER.
