Be it known thatl, MAX Korrn, a subject of the King of Belgium, and a resident of the city, county, and State of N ew York7 have invented certain new and useful lm.- proveinents in Nonsinkable Car Float and Cargo Barges, as set forth in the Jfollowing specification.
My invention relates to non-sinkable car float and cargo barges designed with a series of watertight compartments ruiming parallel with the length of the barge.
Theobject of my invention is to rovide a series ol watertight compartments 1n such a manner that should a collision result in the leakage or destruction ot any one ot the same, the barge would nevertheless float.

Having thus described my invention, what I claimand desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is:
1. In a non-sinkable cargo barge a combination of a plurality of Water tight compart- Lataoot ments toi-ming the sides yand ends of said barge traverse bulkhead partitions forming water tight subscoinpartuients and sub-cargo compartments, hatchway covers over suoli water tight compartments, gangways extend ing parallel to the length ot' said barge and depressed below the level of the said hatch- Ways as and for the purposes herein described.
ln a non-sinkable cargo barge, a coinbination of a plurality of watertight Compartineiits forming the sides and ends 0f said barge, traverse bulkhead partitions forming watertight sub-compartments andsub-oargo rzonipartiirients7 hatehway rovers over such watertight compartments, gangways extending parallel with the length ot said barge and depressed below7 the level of said oompartlnents equipped with means for admitting Water into the same, all as and for the purposes herein described.
