Description
M. F. DOTY Sept. 30. 1924.
POUCH Filed July 28, 1922 Mme/MM Patented Sept. 30, 1924.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
POUCH.
Application filed July 28, 1922. Serial No. 578,220.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MAURICE F. Do'rY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pouches, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has for its chief charac teristic the provision of a key pouch associated with means for holding or suspending the keys within the pouch, and also having means by which the pouch in its entirety may be suspended or supported from its upper end, the invention being simple in construction so that it may be manufactured and sold at a very nominal cost. 7
The nature and advantages of the invention will be better understood when the following detailed description is read in coniection with the accompanying drawing, the invention residing in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as claimed.
In the drawing forming part of this application, like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views, and wherein Figure 1 is a view in elevation of the preferred form of the invention.
Figure 2 is a similar view of a modified form.
Figure 3 is a sectional view through Fig ure 1.
Figure I is a sectional view taken on line l--4t of Figure 2.
Referring to the drawing in detail, and particularly to Figures 1-3, the pouch is indicated at A, and this pouch may be con structed from any suitable material and also vary in size without departing from the spirit of the invention. The pouch is closed at its upper end and open at its lower end, while at two sides 10 and 11 of the pouch are provided with alined perforations adjacent the topof the pouch as illustrated, these perforations being indicated at 13 and arranged to receive a ring 14: by means of which the pouch may be supported or suspended. Arranged within the pouch is a key ring 15, the latter being supported by the ring 14, the arrangement being such that the keys are supported by the ring 15 and wholly disposed within the pouch.
In Figures 2 and 4, I have illustrated a modified form of the invention wherein the key pouch is indicated generally at B and is of course of the same construction and outline as the pouch A.
In this form of the invention, a tongue 17 is used in place of the ring 14 above described, and for the same purposes. The tongue 17 is secured between the sides 10' and llof the pouch B and the stitching which secures the sides together. The tongue is arranged within a portion projecting above the pouch and by means of which the same may be supported or suspended in any suitable manner, while a portion of the tongue projects within the pouch and is perforated as at 18 to receive the key ring 19. The invention, in either instance, provides a very useful article which is simple in construction and which can be manufactured and sold at a very nominal cost.
While it is believed that from the fore going description, the nature and advantages of the invention will be readily apparent, I desire to have it understood that I do not limit myself to what is herein shown and described, and that such changes may be resorted to when desired as fall within the scope of what is claimed.
What I claim is:
In a key pouch, an inverted receptacle open at its lower end, a tongue secured between the sides of the receptacle and having a portion projecting beyond the upper end for supporting the receptacle, and a portion of the said tongue being arranged within the receptacle and perforated to receive and support a key ring, for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I afliX my signature.
MAURICE F. DOTY.
