Be it known that I, GENNARO BASILIO, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Combined Vindow-Shade Brackets and Curtain-Pole Supports; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, c-lear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this application, and represent, in-

This invention relates to improvement in combined window-shade brackets and curtain-pole supports, and particularly to de vices of this characteu in which the shadebrackets are adjustable, to accommodate different lengths of shades, the object of the invention being a simple arrangement of parts, whereby a shade-bracket is mounted for easy adjustment, and the invention consists in the construction as hereinafter de scribed and particularly recited in the claims.

In carrying out my invention, I employ a plate 5, formed with a flange 6 by which it may be secured to a window-casing. This plate also includes a forwardly-projecting arm 7, in which is a vertically-arranged notch 8 for the reception of a curtain-pole angular in cross-section. It is also formed with a rounded notch 9 to receive an ordinary curtain-pole, and' at the bottom of the notch 9 is alug 10, to which one end of a spring curtain support may be en gaged. The plate is cut to form fingers 11 and 12, which are turned outward at right angles to the plate 5, and these fingers are formed with perforations 13. The windowshade brackets each consist of a strip 14, the ends 15 of which are turned outward and formed in the usual way to support one end of a window-shade roller. The brackets are also formed with slots 16, and the brackets extend through the holes formed Serial No. 641,092.

by cutting out the fingers 11 and 12 and are secured to those fingers by screws 17 and nuts 18, the screws extending through 1 the slots 16, so that the brackets are longitudinally adjustable. Two sets of brackets are employed when two shades are used at the same window, but in case only one shade is to be used, one set of brackets may be omitted. In some instances, two windows are arranged side by side, and in this case only three brackets would be necessary for the two windows, as the bracket 14, between the windows, may be provided, at its outer end, with additional shade-roller support ing-end 19, as indicated by broken lines in Fig. 3. These brackets are readily adjustable, so that, when the plates are once fixed to a window-casing, they are adapted to support window-shade rollers of varying lengths.

The notches 18 are adapted to receive ourtain-rods angular in cross-section, and the notch 9 to support a pole round in crosssection, the device being, therefore, adapted' to accommodate the various types of curtain-supports.

I claim:

A combined window-shade bracket and curtain-pole support, comprising a plate formed with a flange through which it may be attached to a window-casing, said plate formed with an outwardly-projecting cur-' tain-pole supporting-arm and also having a finger out from said plate and turned outward therefrom and perforated, a shadebracket formed from a strip of metal having a shade-roller supporting-end and formed with a longitudinal slot, said bracket extending through the hole in said plate formed by the said finger, a screw entering through the slot in the said shadebracket and through the perforation in the said finger. and anut on said screw, whereby said shade-bracket may be adjustably secured to said finger.
