RAZOR-STROPPING DEVICE.

Be it known that I, EDWARD P. DU FRESNE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Razor-Stropping Devices, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to devices for holding safety razor blades during the process of honing or stropping.
The essential feature of my invention is the novel construction by means of which the blade may be shifted to expose either edge and at the same time shieldthe opposite edge.
This provides an eiicient means for honing or stropping both edges without change in the holder or reversal of the blade.
In the following specifications and claims and the drawings forming a part thereof, the details of construction of this device will be fully described, and the novel features pointed out.

Inv the drawings 10 is a holder recessed lougitudinall)v at 11. In this recess the lever 12 is swivelled at 13. Near the upper end of this lever at -14 is swivelled a carrier bar 15 provided with suitable projections 16 adaptod to engage perforations in the razor blade o. It will be obvious that 'the carrier bar may be adapted to hold other forms of blade than the one shown in broken lines. The recess 11 is of suoli width that as the lever 12 swings on the stud 13, the carrier bar 15 engages either side of the recess and aligns the bar in such position that the edge of a blade'mounted thereon will project beyond and parallel with that side of the holder.
The lever 12 is extended downward be yond its center of movement and is formed ance being provided at 24 between the holder' and cover, that the blade may be projected from within. A latch 25 serves to secure the cover in closed position. A spring 26 operates to exert a yielding pressure on the cover, for the purpose of disengaging the lower end 27 when thelatch 25 is pressed against the resisting spring 28.
With my invention any suitable form of cover may be used, the swinging lever 12a Fi 7 may be provided with proJectionsy 17a an the disc.18 omitted; a sliding member `may be substituted for the disc 18; or other equivalents in construction may be used without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, herein described and illustrated as a preferred form.
Having described my claim 1. A stropping device for razor blades comprising a holder; a blade carrier mounted within the holderand movably related thereto; meansfwhereby the blade on its carrier may be moved to lexpose either edge. i

7. A stropping device for razor blades comprising a holder; .a blade carrier; a lever swivelled to the carrier and adapted to swing about a stud fixed relative to the holder; and means for securing the lever at either extreme of its swing.
8. A stropping device for razor blades comprising a holder; a blade carrier; a lever sivivelled to the carrier and adapted to swing `about a stud fixed relative to the holder; a projecting member mounted Within J"the holder and adapted to engage the lever for the purpose of swinging the same.
9. A stropping' devire for razor blades comprising a holder; a blade carrier; a lcver svvivelled to ythe carrier and adapted to swing about a Stud fixed relativi` to the holder; a projecting member mounted Within the holder and adapted to engage the lever for the purpose of swinging the same; and means for securing the moving parts in either extreme position.
