To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES W. THOMPSON. a citizen of the United States. residing at lVichita. in the county of Sedgwick and State of Kansas, have invented newand useful Improvements in Revolving Bread Racks, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a revolving rack for holding loaves of bread and the like and the principal object of the inventionns to provide means for supporting a. plurality of loaves so that the loaves may be easily accessible without undue handling.

Another object of the invention is to provide a plurality of containers on the rack for holding the leaves.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is an elvation of the invention.

Figure 4 is an enlarged view of one of the containers.

Figure 5 is a cross section through the container.

In these views 1 indicates a stand which consists of a vertically arranged tube 2 having its lower end connected by the coupling 3 with the curved legs 4. The lower end of each leg carries a castor 5. A frame 6 is rotatably supported on the stand and this frame consists of a pair of ring-shaped members 7 each of which is connected to the outer ends of the radiating arms 8 which have their inner ends connected to the sleeve 9 which is rotatably mounted on the tube 2; The ring-shaped members 7 are connected together by the vertical strips 10.

The frame 6 supports a plurality of containers 11, said containers being preferably bolted to the rings so that they may be detached therefrom when desired. Each container is made in the form of an elongated box having a slot 12 in its front face and a transversely arranged opening 13 in the lower end of this face through which the bread is removed, the open top permitting the loaves of bread to be arranged one upon the other in the container. The sides of the container are recessed as at 14, adjacent the lower end, to facilitate the passage of the loaves and the lower end of the container is provided with an extension 15 which acts as a shelf. The part connecting this shelf with the bottom of the container is inclined upwardly so as to form a flange for preventing the bottom loaf from being forced out of the container by the Weight of the other loaves.

The loaves of bread are passed through the open top into the container and are placed one upon the other therein, the middle part of the loaves appearing through the slot. The containers may be made of different sizes to hold different sizes of loaves.

It will thus be seen that the loaves may be easily and quickly removed-from the containers after the desired container is brought to a position adjacent the salesman by rotating the frame.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

What I claim is A revolving bread rack comprising a stand consisting of a vertically arranged tube, a coupling including curved legs designed to connect the lower end of said tube, castors carried by the lower end of the legs. a frame rotatably supported on said stand consisting of a pair of ring-shaped members, a'sleeve rotatably mounted on said tube and rotatable arms having their lower ends connected thereto, said ring-shaped members connected to the outer ends of the rotatable arms and. vertical strips connecting said ring-shaped members together, a plurality of detachable containers supported on said frame and bolted to said rings, each container being made in the form of an elongated box having a slot in the front face thereof and a transversely arranged opening in the lower end of which the bread is removed, the sides of t said face 't-hrouih containers being recessed adjacent the lower ends'to facilitate the passage of the loaves and the lower end of the container being 10 provided with an extension which acts in the capacity of a shelf.
