PATENT OFFICE.
FRED P. MARTIN, 0F OTTAWA., KANSAS.
BRIDGE FORM.
Application led November 2, 1921.
To all wiz-om t may concern.'
Be it known that I, FRED P. MARTIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at 0ttawa, in the county of Franklin and State of Kansas, have invented a new and useful Bridge Form, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to concrete form supports, and more particularly to concrete form sup-ponts of the adjustable type, the primary object of the invention being to provide sections adapted to be interlocked at their ends for securing the same together.
A further object of the invention is to provide a support of this charac-ter including end sections of a novel construction to insure the support being supported in true horizontal positions.
1With the foregoing and other objects in view Which Will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in .the combination and arrangement of parts and-in the details of construction hereinafter de scribed-and claimed,l it being understood that changes in the' precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made Withinthe scope of what is claimed, Without departing from the spirit of the invention.
lheferringto the drawingszc Figure 1 is an elevational view of a concrete structure, the same being partly brokenaway to illustrate the form supports.
Figure 2 is an enlarged fragmental detail view disclosing one of the end sections of the form support and one of the multiple interlocking sections.
Figure 3 is a plan View of the structure shownv by Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a diagrammatic view disclosing the abutments that accommodate the ends ofthe form supports.
Figure 5 is a sectional View taken on line 5-.-5 of Figure 2. y
Referring to the drawings in detail, the support embodies a plurality of sections indicated generally by the reference character 5, each section embodying horizontal and parallel upper and lower bars 6, and vertical and parallel end bars 7. Angularly disposed bars 8 brace the respective sections, the same extending from points adjacent to the lower corners of the sections and having connection with one of the upper bars intermediate the ends thereof.
The end sections embody a main portion 10, a. rightl angled support 11 and apertured Serial No. 512,276.
ears 12, the support 11 having a relatively Wide surface to insure against tilting of the support proper, when concrete or other plastic. material is positioned on the upper surface thereof.
Each of the alternate sections of the support embodies pairs of spaced ears 13 disposed at the ends thereof and between which the ends 12 and 15 of adjacent sections are positioned, there being provided suitable se curing bolts 14 passing through the openi ings of the ears for securing the sections together.
In the use of the device, suitable box members indicated at 16 are provided. the same being embedded in the concrete walls asso ciated with the fiooring to be formed, which box-like structures are designed to receive the right angled supports 11 ofthe end sections.
l/Vhen the sections of the form supportsv the plasticjmaterial.' It might be further v stated that the sections 5 may be of various lengths so that substantially any length desired may be had by connecting the proper sections.
After .the plastic material has set, the v form supports may be removed by removing the bolts 14: and disconnect-mg the sections.
Having thus described the invent-ion,
what is claimed as new is 1. A form support for concrete building structures, said support comprising a plurality of interlocked sections. said sections being of various lengths, end sections, each of said end sections including a relatively wide support.
2. In a device of the character described, a plurality of sections. box members, end sections having supporting members, said supporting members adapted to be positioned in the box members. and said sections adapted to support boards to accommodate a plastic material.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
FRED P. MARTIN.
