PICTURE FRAME.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAKOB ToMsIoH, a citizen of Jugo-Slavia, residing at Brilliant, in the county of Colfax and State of New Mexico, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Picture Frames, of which the following is a specification.-

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in picture frames and has particular reference to frames in the form of a flexible strip including spaced openings therein'with tabs struck out from the strip adjacent the edges of the openings for supporting a picture within the frame.

The invention further embodies in a picture frame of the type above set forth, the provision of frame strips having spaced slots formed in the upper edge thereof and gummed tab extensions carried by the lower edge thereof to be received in an adjacent slot in another picture frame for retaining two or more frames in assembled condition.

With the above general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists of the novel form, combination and ,arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying clrawing and claimed.

material such as paper, cardboard or the like having a plurality of spaced elongated rectangular frame openings 2 arranged midway the upper and lower edges thereof, the frame openings 2 being spaced by connecting strip sections 3 and end bars 4:.

As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a picture 5 is removably supported upon the strip 1 overlying the frame openings 2, the retaining means therefor embodying tabs 6 struck-out from the frame strip 1 at the opposite ends and lower side of the frame opening, the tabs being bent upon the weakened lines 7 for supporting the picture 5 rearwardly of the strip as shown in Fig. 2.

The elongated frame strips 1 are constructed in a manner whereby any number of the strips may be connected together as a unitary device, the upper edges of the strips being provided with spaced slots 8, while the lower edge of the strip carries gummed tab extensions 9 alined with the slots 8, the tab being inserted in the adjacent slot of another frame strip and bent upon itself to be gummed thereto as shown in Fig. 2.

In the form of the invention shown in Fig. 3, the elongated frame strip 1 has vertically disposed elongated rectangular frame openings 2* formed therein with tabs 6 associated with the frame openings in a manner as disclosed in connection with Fig. 1, the strips illustrated in Fig. 3 being the uppermost frame strip and having eyelets 10 formed in the upper edge thereof for suspending the same. The lower edge of the strip shown in Fig. 3 carries gummed tabs 9 that are asi ociated with the type of strip shown in From the above detailed description of the device, it is believed that the construction and operation thereof will at once be ap parent, it being noted that the pictures 5 are removably supported upon the frame strip 1 by the tabs 6 struck out from the strip while the cooperating tongue and slots 9 and 8 provide for the connecting of strips as illustrated by Fig. 2. If desired, the connecting sections 3 between the frame openings 2 and 2 may be weakened upon lines to permit folding of the frame strip as in transporting the same.
