Be it` known that 1MILns UvnnrroL'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at Los Angeles, in the countyfof LosAngeles and State of California, have `invented new and lnseful Improvements in Dolls, of which the following is a specification.

llt is the object of this invention to provide i a `doll adapted to form either a single relatively large doll, or such adcll,` and a plurality of smaller dolls.

` rllhe invention conten'iplates the provision of a structure including the trunk and head of a doll and detachable limb forming members which when detached will have the appearance of smaller dolls. r

. The invention willbe readily .understood from the following description of the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a front elevation of a device constructed in accordance with the invention, and showing the limb members secured to the doll trunk.

. Fig. 2 is an enlarged elevation of a portion of the doll structure with the dress of y the same removed.

The doll includes a trunk an-d head portion which may be formed of suitable fabric material suitably stuffed. rlhis trunk andA head portion is shown as comprising the torso 1 and the head 2. The arms for the trunlr of the doll are i shown as members 3 which are preferably also `formed of fabric suitably stuffed and arranged to form separate smaller doll structures including` the heads 4.

The head members are suitably painted or otherwise decorated upon one side to represent the back of the hands for the larger doll structure, and on their opposite sides are formed as the faces for the smaller dolls.` The smaller doll structures are swingably and detachably connected to the torso of the larger doll as by hook and veye connections `5-6. The arm members as thus prow `vided by the smaller dolls are so connected that when hanging `from the larger doll structure, the size of head members 4 representing `the back of hands will be` turned outwardly. By this arrangement one of the arm members may be swung across thebody of the larger doll, so that the face forming the side of head member 4 is exposed. I

A `second pair of the smaller dolls are preferably suspended from the ones which are attached to thelbody of the larger doll structure, and for this purpose the lower ends of the first set of smaller dolls 7 `are provided with hooks 11L adapted to engage the eyes 10 upon the arms of the second set of `smaller `dolls 7 in order that this second set may be suspended in manner similar to that previously described. rlhe connections between the first and second sets of smaller dolls will thus form the knee oints for the legs of the larger doll structure.v

Thebody of the larger doll structure may be provided with a suitable -dress 13, and the smaller dolls 3 and are provided with dresses 14C of the same material so that when the complete larger doll structure is as sembled, as just described, a complete dress will be formed for the doll.

rlhe dress 18 is preferably provided with a flaring portion 15`at its lower end which, when the first set of depending dolls 7 is in position, will overlie the heads and arms of the depending smaller dolls. In similar manner the lower ends of the dresses 14C for the first set of smaller dolls are provided with Haring lportions 16 adapted to overlie `the heads and arms of the second set of de pending dolls 7 when the latter are in position.

One of the smaller dolls 3 forming the arms of the larger doll structure, when swung across the body of the larger doll, is arranged to have the appearance of a child carried in the arms, andmeans are provided for holding the arm in such position which, in the present instance, asshown as including a hpok 17 upon the body of the larger doll, and a ribbon 18 forming a part of the dress for the smaller doll 3 andso arranged as to be engaged by the hook.

It willthus be seen that I have provided an extremely simple 'structure whereby a child is provided with either a single dell structure, or with such a doll, and a plurality or' smaller doll members.

Various changes may be made Without departing from the spiritA of the invention as claimed.

What is claimed is:

1. A doll comprising a trunk7 and limbs having'hook and eye connections With said trunk and formed as separate dolls.

2. A doll comprising' a trunk member, separate limb members formed as miniature dolls, and cooperating' means for connecting the respective members in readily detachable relation.

3. A doll comprising a trunk, detachable limb members formed of separate dolls, and means for detachably and swingably connecting the limbs to the trunk.

4. A doll comprising a trunk, detachable members, and means for connecting .the members to the trunk, said members forming separate dolls when detached from the trunk.

5. A doll comprising a trunk, a member rorined a miniature doll, means i'or swing ably and detachabb7 connecting the member to the trunk, so that the member maf,v be swung across the body and supported as :i smaller doll, or may hangat one side as an arm, the end of said member appearing as a hand upon one side and as a head for the smaller doll upon its opposite side.

6. A doll comprisinga trunk. smaller dolls having arms, and means 'for detaebably and swingably connecting the arms of the smaller dolls to the trunk te depeml as legs.

7. A doll comprising a trunk., smaller dolls having arms, means Vlor detachably and swingably connecting the arms ot the smaller dolls to the trunk to 'lorm legs for the trunk, and a dress upon the trunk and arranged to overlie the arms and heads 0i the smaller dolls when the latter are :1rranged as legs.
