Description
J.-F KRUSE.
BATH CABINET VAPORIZEB. APPUCATION: FILED OCT. 3h i92l- 1,421,502. Patented July 4,1922.
I Zlwuemfoz i. Afwae.
JOHN F. KRUSE, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.
BATH-CABIN ET VAPORIZER.
Application filed October 31, 1921.
T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN F. KRUsE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, county of Marion, and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bath-Cabinet Vaporizers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and-to the characters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to vapor baths and has special reference to the means employed for generating the vapor and introducing it into the bath chamber.
It is the object of this invention to pro-- duce a vapor bath cabinet and vapor generator that may be easily assembled and disassembled, thus making it well adapted for packing and transporting.
In order to more clearly describe my invention, I shall have reference to the accompanying drawing in which- 1 shows my bath cabinet and vaporizer in assembled relation, with part of the cabinet wall broken away to show the vapor Fig. 2 1s a view showing my vapor generator partly in elevation and partly in longitudinal section;
Fig. 3 is a transverse vertical section of my vapor generator taken on line 3-3 Fig. 2; and
Fig. 4: is a horizontal section taken on line 4c4- of Fig. 2.
The same reference numbers will be used to indicate the same parts throughout the several views.
Numeral 1 represents a bath cabinet constructed somewhat as shown and described in Patent 1,038,394, granted to me on September 10, 1912. Cabinet 1 comprises a boxlike structure 2, having a hinged cover 3, a partition member 4 upon which the patient is supported, and an extension 5 for the sugport of a pillow which serves as a rest for the patients head. Underneath the parti--, tion member 4 is a pipe 6, which is made of Specification of Letters Patent.

foraminated material or provided with a large number of openings 7 through which the vapor enters the cabinet. For the purpose of generating the vapor, I have pro vided a heater 8 which may be a two-burner gas stove or an electric stove, or any suitable heat generating device. On top of stove 8 I place a metal oven 9, which has two parallel angle irons 10 whose ends are joined by transverse bars 11 (Fig. 4). To the frame composed of members 10 and 11, I secure a metal housing 12, which terminates at the top in a nipple 13, to which is connected a pipe 14 whose other end is connected with pipe 6 in the manner shown in Fig. 1. One end of oven 12 is provided with an opening for the reception of pan 15, which slides on angles 10. Pan 15 is adapted to contain the liquid to be vaporized, and is located directly over the heating elements of the stove. IVhen the liquid in pan 15 becomes sufficiently heated, it will vaporize and the hot vapors will flow through pipe 14 into pipe 6 and through holes 7 into the cabinet, where they will come in contact with the patient and exert their benelicent and curative effects.
' From the above it will appear that I have devised a vaporizer for use in connection with vapor baths, which can be cheaply made, readily assembled and disassembled, and which is eflicient in its operation.
Having now described my invention, what I claim is- 1. A vaporizer for vapor baths. comprising a frame composed of two parallel angle iron members whose ends are connected by transverse bars, a casing secured to said frame, an opening in the top of said casing. an opening in one end of said casing, and a pan slidable on said angle irons and through said end opening.
2. A vaporizer for vapor baths comprising a frame, a casing secured to said frame, an end opening in said casing, a pan slidable in said opening, guides for said pan, a nipple in the top of said casing, a pipe slidably connected to said nipple. and a second pipe slidably connected with the first named pipe.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
JOHN F. KRUSE.
