particularly to an adapter providing means for assembling into a self-contained unit, a telephone transmitter and a calling device.
Anobject of this invention is the provision of a new and an improved adapter of simple construction on which a calling device for automatic telephones and a telephone transmitter can be mounted to form a selfcontained unit which can be readily attached to a subscribers telephone instrument without making any undesirable modification in the instrument, such'as screw holes or openings for wires. Another object of this invention is to provide an adapter which canbe attached to the transmitter bracket of either a Wall type telephone or .a desk type telephone. 1
W'hen a telephone central office is reequipped and changed over from manual operation to automatic operation, each subscribers telephone instrument connecting with that ofiice is usually equipped with a calling'device or impulse sender such as that described 1,161,854 to O. F. Forsberg. Itis desirable in such instances that means be provided whereby calling devices can be'attached to the subscribers telephones without the necessity of making any additional holes or otherwise modifying the instruments.
To attach a calling device to anordinar desk type instrument, such as illustrated in Fig. 1,,involves either a very considerable modification of the instrument or the use of a suitable adapter for attaching the calling device.

What is claimed is: V
1. A telephone sub-station set including a transmitter, a standard, a calling device, a unitary support comprising a base plate to which said transmitter and calling device are attached, a. rearwardly extruded hollow mounting lug integral with said base plate for attaching the support to the standard,
and forwardly extending ears on said base plate cooperating with said lug, calling de vice and transmitter to form an enclosed cord chamber through which conductors may lead from said calling device'and the trans mitter to said standard.
A telephone set comprising a standard, a'transmitter, a calling device, and a support for pivotal'ly securing said transmitter and calling device on said standard, said support comprising a base plate, a rearwardlyextending lug, forwardly projecting ears cooperating with the transmitter, the calling device and the lug to form a conduit through which conductors may be led from thetransmitter and the calling device to the standard.
