At an interl abutment member 18 and the abutment washer 22, whereby the upward movement of the forward ends ofthe bar 20, that is y the endsof the bars having the rods 19 connected thereto is resisted by the compressive force of the springs 21.

The rear ends of the bars 19 are pivotally connected as at 23 with the rear end of the body 10, and since the bars 19 have a more or less fulcruming engagement with the bar 17 according to the strength of the springs 21 it will be apparent that the rear end of the body 10 has a resilient support on the rear end of the frame. As the greater part of the weight is usuallycarried over the rear axle the advantages of this resilient mounting will be readily apparent.

For the purpose of holding the front end of the body 10 down to the running gear, any suitable and convenient form of lock may be provided. It is preferable, however, to use a simple form of lock that will readilypermit the body to be swung on the pivots 23 to permit the wagon tobe used as -a dump" `frame bars 16, whereby they may be'brought into registration to receivea pin,bolt or like locking device to hold the `body level when it is not desired to use the saine as a dump wagon., By extracting the pins from the eyes 26 into locking plates the body will readily swing on the pivots 23 to provide the usual dump wagon effect. v

Wagons built upon the above principle are easily operated over rough roads or streets and when used as a coaster the method of body support greatly facilitates the ease with which the same is operated Ywhile at the same time it eliminates vthe shocks and jars usually transmitted tothe body ofv the vehicle.;
