To all to 7mm it may concern Be it known that I, ANTON PATAKY, a citizen of Hungary, residing at Conneaut, in the county of Ashtabula and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in lVashboard Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in wash board holders and hasparticular reference to a support for awash board when positioned in a tub.

The primary object of the invention embodies a wash board holder or support wherein a clamping member adapted for attachment to the upper edge of a wash tub has a bracket arm swivelly connected thereto with a wash board secured to the bracket arm in a manner to permit a slight movement of the board relative to the tub so that boards of different lengths may be supported on a tub and capable'of movement to cause the feet of the board to engage the bottom of the tub.

WVith the above general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists of the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing there is illustrated a wash board holder embodying a clamp formed of a pair of plates 1 and 2 having clamping arms 3 adapted for engagement with the upper beaded or rolled. edge 4 of a tub 5,

The clamping plate 1 shown in detail in 1 1g. 1 embodiesa pair of laterally project 111;; lugs 6 carrying opposed pins 7 while an opening 8 is formed in the plate 1 for purposes presently to appear. The clamping plate 2 shown more clearlv 111 Fig. 5 embodies a threaded aperture 9 and a block 10 preferably formed integral with the upper end thereof, the block 10 being provided with side recesses 11 and a forward socket 12 in the front face thereof. In assembling the two members of the clamp, the pins 7 of the lugs 6 al'ereceived in the sockets 11 and rest upon the bottom walls thereof as clearly shown in Figs. 1 to 3 while a limitedscrew 13 passes through the opening 8 andthe clamping plate 1 threads into the aperture 9 of the clamp plate 2 for securlng the jaws 3 upon the upper end of the tub 5 and for retaining the pins 7 in the sockets 11.

The bracket arm for supporting the wash board embodies a rod 14 provided with a ball head 15 upon one end thereof for reception in the recess 12 while the plate 16 received on the rod 14 is secured to the adjacent face of the block 10 by the fastening devices 17 as clearly shown in Figs. 2 and 3.

A plate 18 is suitably secured to the other end of the rod 14 and has an opening 19 adjacent each end thereof for reception of fastening devices 20 whereby the plate 18 is secured against the shoulder 21 of the wash board 22.

From the above detail description of the device it is thought that the construction and operation thereof will at once be apparent, it being noted that the clamping plates 1 and 2 are maintained in assembled relations by the screw 13 that also screws the clamping jaws 3 upon the upper end of the tub. The ball and socket connection between the rod 14 and the block 10 as shown in Figs. 1 to 3 will permit the board 22 to move a limited distance within the tub 5 so that tubs and wash boards of various sizes may be used with a standard type of clamp and permit the feet of the board to rest upon the bottom of the tub and thereby constitute a substantial support for the board.

WVhile there is herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is nevertheless to be understood clamp formed ofseparate plates, ablock carried by the upper end of one of the plates and having side sockets therein, pins carried by the other plate for reception in said sockets, a screw for retaining the plates in assembled relation, and a wash board supporting bracket arm swivelly attached to said block. r

A wash board holder comprising a clamp formed of separate plates, a block carried by the upper end of one of the plates and having side sockets therein, pins carried by the other plate for reception in said sockets, a screw for retaining the plates in assembled relation, and a washboard supporting bracket arm swivelly attached to said block, said arm having a plate carried by the end thereof spaced from the block for supporting the wash board.

A wash board holder comprising a pair of clamping plates,a block carried by the upper end of one of the plates and having side pockets therein, a pair of spaced lugs carried by the upper end of the other plate, an inwardly directed pin carried by each lug adapted for reception in the block sockets, clamping-jaws carried by the lower ends of the clamping plates, a clamping screw detacha-bly connecting the plates, and a wash board supporting thebracket arm connected to said block.

5. A wash board holder comprising a pair ofclamping plates, a block carried by the upper end of one of the plates, a pair of spaced lugs carried by the upper end of the other plate, an inwardly directed pin carried by 'each' lug adapted for reception in the block sockets, clamping jaws carried by the lower ends of the clamping plates, a clamping screw detachably connecting the plates, and a wash board supporting bracket arm swivelly connected to said block.
