APPLICATION FILED N0.V.1I, 1920.
Patented Feb. 7, 1922.4
(KANU INVENTOR. l/l//LLMM 90h60 ATTORNEY.
To all wziomz'it'mag/ concern.' yi
.-Be it `known that I, WILLIAM DUNsoN, a citizen of vthe United States, residing. at In,- dianapolis, in the county of Mario-n and State of Indiana, have invented certain-new and useful'. Improvements yin Adjustable Shade 4and Blind Holders,of whichthe following is a specification. i
Y This invention relates to adjustable shade andY blind holders,I andthe prime featureQof Athe invention is the provision of.i brackets which may be `attachedto parts off the, window. frame without ImduIy marring or ide.-
y A facing theframefand is adjustabl@l So'that -it Awill fit any ordinarywidth of: frame.-A
A further feature ofthe inventionisw in so constructing the holder that the l parts thereof maybe 4Vstamped or i formed from sheet metal or tubing, the number of parts 35, f the brackets showing the frame in section,
being reduced to a minimun@` and being adjustably connected witheach-other, fl
A further feature of the invention is in so constructing the various parts ofv the holder that curtains, trimmings of various kinds and blinds 4may be supported from the same brackets. Y
Other objects and advantages' will be hereinafter more fully set forth and pointed out in the accompanying specification. i
In the accompanying drawings which are made a part of this application,
Figure 1 is a front elevation of one of the brackets showing the same lapplied to use on a window frame,
Figure 2 is a top. plan view of' oneA of vFigure 3 is an end elevation of the bracket, and
Figure 4 is a sectional view as seen on line 4 4: Figure 2.V Y
Referring to the drawings, 1 indicates a frame which may be constructed in theusual or any preferred manner to which is attached a bracket 2,' said bracket comprising a pole'supporting arm 3 andan anchoring member', the arm 3 having a body portion 5, one end of which is bent at right angles, as shown at 6, andextends over onevedge Vface of the frame 1, a nail 'or screw 7 be` ing driven Vthrough the angular extension for securing it to the frame. The anchoring member 4 is formed from a section of metal which is doubled uponV itself, the arm thereof adjacent the face of the frame 1 having channels 8 at its edges for the re v speciiatvion of Letfrsr'atap. 4' Yep3,1391fijefjlj i I Appiic'ation ined November 11,1920. serial No.142sg416. 7 i
shown in the drawings there are'but threeA parts to each bracket Vand saidl parts are preferably stamped from sheety metal', consequently the* brackets maybe very cheaply parts thereof, the bracketsmay be adjusted for accommodating themA to frames ofvary-y ing widths and for shade rollers of varying lengths, and by providing the langular eX tensions for engagement withv the edge of the frame the face of vthe frame will not be marred or injured in putting up'or removing the brackets. Y y
Having thus fully. describedmy saidinvention, what I claim as new and desire tov secure by Letters Patent, is:
1 A ambassade and blind holder Vand durable for prac-A y Y' f -95 comprising a pole supporting arm, a downwardly extending body portion integral with said pole supporting arm andV having a lateral extension for engagement' with one edge of a frame, an anchoring member havingV channels for engagement, With one end of the body, said anchoring membercoinj prising paralleling sections, and a roller supporting bracket having channels formed by bending over the edges of the bracket for engagement with one of the ysections of the anchoring member. Y Y
` V2.In a combined shade and blind holder, a'pole supporting arm, a rod supporting pin at the free end of said arm, a body portion integral with said arm and extending laterally in each direction from the arm, an anchoring memberhaving at one end its edges bent over and forming channels-.for sliding engagement with said body portion, a roller 'supporting bracket, having at one end its edges bent over and vforming channels for adjustable engagement with said anchoring member, and means for securing Ysaid arm and' anchoring member to parts of a frame. l` 3. A; combined shade and blind holder comprising an anchoring member bent upon itself to form paralleling sections, one of zsaid' sections having channels L formed at' vitsedges, a pole supporting arm, a body integral with said arm and having adjustable connection with the channels of the an- -choring member, said arm having a bowed `body integral with said bracket and having channels for engagement with one section ol said anchoring member, and means i'or vvse-v curing the anchoring member and arm to a frame. l
1l. A combined" shade and blind holder comprising a pole supporting arm, a body portion secured thereto and having means at one endor engagement WithY one edge ot'V a frame, an anchoring member having channels for engagement with one end; of the body portion, said anchoring member comprising paralleling sections secured together at' one end and separated at their opposite ends, and a roller supporting bracket having chan- 'nels for sliding engagement With one of the sections of the anchoring member. n
In Witness whereof, I have hereunto-set my hand and seal 'at Indianapolis, Indiana, this 8th day of November, A. `D. nineteen hundred and twenty. Y
