SCRUBBING CAR.
Application filed May 9, 1921. Serial No. 468,115.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, VIo'ron D. Pnnnrs and LUCY MoLYNnAUx, citizens of the United States, residing at lVhiting and VVoodland, in the respective counties of Lake and Ir o quois and States of Tndiana and Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Scrubbing Cars, of which the following is a speciliction.
This invention relates to a scrubbing device and has for its primary object the prothey may be quickly disconnected;
vision of a scrubbing car whereby the scrubbing of floors may be accomplished in a relatively easy manner.
An object of the invention is the construction of a car that may be moved across the floor with very. little effort and which Will not mar the floor. v
A feature of the invention is the padding of the car so as to relieve the scrubber of excessive strains.
Besides the above our invention is distinguished in the novel manner of construct ing and associating the various parts so that lVith these and other ob 'ects in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed descriptiontaken in con.- nection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
Fig. 1 is a top plan view of the car.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation.
Fig. 3 is a cross sectional view.
' The remaining figures are detail views.
Again referring to the drawings illustrating one of the many constructions of our supported by the casters 2 so as to be easily moved. over the floor and prevent marring of the floor. openings 3 that detachably receive the pins 4: extending from the frame 5. The frame 5 is provided with an upstanding wall 6 on three sides, and adjacent the bottom of the frame i provided a cleat 7 supporting the This base is provided with cushion 8. This cushion consistsof a body portion 9 and a padding 10 upon which the knees of the operator rest;
It will be noted that the base is provided with recesses 11 slidably receiving the cross bars 12 of arack 13. To complete the rack we provide end supports 14 which are of a size to rest directly against the floor so that a pail of water maybe supported on the rack without the same being subject to excessive strains. It will also be noted that the rack may be extended from one side to another so that a pail of water may be arranged on either side. To complete the structure we provide a tray 15 extending forwardly of the base to supportsoap, wash ragsorany other articles.
From the foregoing desoription taken in connection with the accompanying drawing it will be seen that we provide adevice that will greatly relieve the user of excessive strains and fatigue, and besides, will keep the clothes of the user in a dry condition, and further the floor is properly protected which is agreat advantage.
It is, of course, to be understood that the invention may be constructed in various other manners and the parts associated in different relations and therefore, we do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claim hereunto appended;
Having thus described our invention what we claim is: 1
A scrubbing car comprising a base.pro-- vided with openings, a frame having pins that are detachably mounted intheopenings, casters secured to the base, a tray scoured to the base a rack adjustably supported by thebase, and a cushion removably supported by the frame. V
In testimony whereof we afiix our signatures. 1
t .VICTOR .n. PHELPS. LUoY MOLYNEAUX.
