APPLICATION FILEII NOV- 6. 1920.

UNITED STATES COLLAR-DISPLAY FORM.
Application filed November 6, 1920. Serial N 0.
To w ham it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES M. CON-- NOLLY, a citizen of the United States of merica, residing at Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Collar-Display Forms, of which the followin is a specification.
eference may be had to the accompanying drawings, and the reference characters marked thereon, which form a part of this specification. Similar characters refer to similar parts in the several figures therein.
This invention relate to forms for displaying collars in stores or show-windows.
The principal object of the invention is to support a plurality of collars attractively dislayed for inspection of prospective customers.
Other objects will appear in connection with the following description.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a view in front elevation of a display form embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is a view in side same.
Fig. 3 is a view in rear elevation of the same with the foot and collar-supporting fin folded flatly upon the column.
Fig. 4 is a cross-section of the same taken on the broken line 4 4 in Fig. 2.
Fig. 5 is a similar view taken on the broken line 5-5 in Fig. 3.
eferring to the drawings wherein the invention is shown in preferred form, 1 is an upright or column terminating at the lower end in a supporting base, 2, and at the upper end in a head, 3, which may be of any desired ornamental form.
ounted upon the back of the column, 1, is a fin, 4, which in use projects rearwardly at right angles to the plane of the column as shown in Figs. 2 and 4.
This fin is formed with a series of hooks, 5, each adapted to receive the back portion of a collar, 6, inserted within the hook with elevation of the Specification of Letters Patent.
' the device.
Patented Nov. 1, 1921. 422,149.
the collar encircling the column, 1, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
he front ends of each collar are preferably secured together by a collar-button, 7.
plurality of collars can thus be supported one above another encircling the column, 1, in position for comparative display to a prospective customer, or in a show window or the like.
For certain purposes of the invention the fin with the hooks, 5, may be constructed in any known manner.
For convenience in transportation however, I prefer to make the fin, 4, foldable, forming the same from a strip of pasteboard or the like creased at 8 along Its iongL tudinal middle, the portion of the strip on one side of the crease forming the fin, 4, while the portion, 9, on the other side of the crease forms an attaching flap which can be glued to the back of the column, 1.
he lower end of the fin, 4, forms a foot, 10, which cotiperates with the base, 2, of the column, to form a staple support for A tongue, 11, is cut out from the strip of pasteboard before the crease, 8, is formed therein, said tongue being adapted to be bent at right angles to the plane of the flap, 9, and being provided with a notch, 12, adapted to engage the fin, 4, when the fin is bent out at right angles to the column, 1, and to support the fin and foot, 10, in position for use.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A collar display form having an upright member with a rearwardlv projecting fin formed with a plurality of hooks adapted receive the back portions of a plurality of collars supported one above another encircling the upright member.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 3rd day of November, 1920.
CHARLES M. CON N OLLY.
