I provide a latch 15 that is secured to the frame 11, at 16, by solderingor otherwise. This latch has a beveled nose 17 that is adapted to snap past a beveled projection 18 at one side of the channeled portion 7, to hold the lid in closed position. This construction provides an exceptionally tight joint and one that will be quite ornamental.

It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the precise construction set `forth but that itincludes within its purview whatever changes fairly come within either the terms or the spirit of the appended claims.

Having described my invention, what I claim is:

1. A device of the character described comprising a finger embracing band' having an enlarged' top portion, channels along three of its sides and open at the fourth side. a cover comprising a rectangular frame, a glass panel carried by saidxfra'me, means'for hinging said frame to the said channeled of the lid and the body of the ring.
