Knrrnn, citizens of the United btates, residing` at Lockport, 1n the county olf' Niagara and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Powder-Puffs, of which the following is a specication.

This invention relates to powder puffs and has for its principal object to construct a powder puhn from lambs wool on the hide so that the ,puit1 will be more durable, pleasing to the skin and more easily cleaned.

'Furthermore the invention contemplates securing together two pieces of lambs hide with the wool thereon and trimming down the saine to form a powder puit of conventional design with the hide portion concealed so as not to come intocontact with the skin.

lith these objects in view and others which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the invention comprises the novel features of construction and arrangement of parts which will be more fully described hereinafter and set forth with particularity in the claim ap pended hereto.

A designates what we shall term the upper section of the powder puitl and B the lower section, both of which are 'formed of lambs hide designated l. with the wool thereon as A at 2. The under surfaces of the lambs hide are glued together to form a core as is clearly illustrated in Fig. 2 thus presenting the outer wool section 2 for application to .the face to place powder thereon. Furthermore 'the edge portions of the hide coin cealed by combing the wool outwardly therefrom as is also clearly illustrated in Fig. 2 and indicated by the numeral 3; thus no portion of the hide will come in contact with the skin of the user.

As clearly shown in Figs. 3 and 4 the puff is constructed with a linger engaging por-Y tion in the form of a ring 4 secured through the medium of threads 5 to the central portion of the hide portion l of the pull and if desirable a decorative bow 6 Jformed of ribbon may be placed therebeneath to enhance the appearance of the powder puff.

As the manner of using powder puffs is well known in the art to which this invention appertains, it is `merely necessary to point out that the present powder puff is an improvement upon the usual powder puf in that the lambs wool is more durable in nature and can be cleaned more readily than the usual puffs formed from down or cotton. Also it is pointed out that the disposition of the finger engaging member also tends to hold the hide portions together as is illustrated in Fig. 4. Y

lt is obvious that those skilled in the art may vary the details of construction and arrangement o the wool forming the powder puff without departing from the spirit of the invention, and therefore it is not desired to limit `such features except as may be re quired by the claim.

A powder puil composed of two sections formed of lambs hide with the skin portions arranged iace to face, the wool facing outward to form the powder applying'means, a finger engaging member, and means eX- tending through said sections and engaging said member for attaching said member to said purl and to aiiord securingmeans to hold the sections connected.
