I have found that the device embodying my invention, can be adjusted to suit the position of the user by lowering or raising the position of the bar, by extending or tightening the chain attachment and then permitting the supports to spread farther apart.
Having described my invention, what I claim is:
1. A book rest having two rear and two front supporting legs and an upper and. a lower transverse shelf member, the front supporting legs carrying the lower shelf and the upper shelf which is slidably adjustable on the supporting legs, both shelves being provided with bars hinged thereto,the bars of the lower shelf being adapted to be turned up and that of the upper shelf to be turned down so as to retain the book in open position.
2. A book-rest having two rear and two front supporting legs and an upper and a lower transverse shelf member, carried by the front legs, the upper shelf being slidably adjustable thereon, and the lower shelf being provided with a hinged bar adapted to be turned upward to retain the book in open position and turned downward to release the book.
3. A book rest having two rear and two front supporting legs and an upper and a lower transverse shelf member, the front supporting legs carrying the upper and lower shelves which are provided with bars hinged thereto, the bar of the lower shelf being provided with fingers adapted to be u ed up and the bar of the upper shelf being adapted to be turned down so as to retain the book in open position.
