APPLICATION FILED JUNE 21, 19 RENEW ED AUG. 15,1919. 1,323,241. Patented Dec. 2,1919.
UNITED STATESBATENT OFFICE.
BERNARD HARRY BERRY, 0F HELENA, MONTANA.
SPOOL-HOLDING CABINET.
To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, BERNARD H. BERRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Helena, in the county of Lewis and Clark and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Spool- Holding Cabinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as Will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
his invention relates to new and useful improvements in containers for spools upon which thread is wound and consists of a simple device of this nature so arranged as to prevent the thread from being snarled or tangled up, and also for keeping each spool separate the thread being drawn through slits in the walls of the spool compartments.
The invention comprises further various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings which, with the letter of reference marked thereon, form a part of this application and in which:
, Figure 1 is a perspective view of my spool holder, showing the side partially open, and
Fig. 2 is a cross sectional view through the same.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter:
A designates a casing, which may be of any suitable size or shape, preferably as disclosed in the drawings, and provided with a hook B at one end, whereby the same may be hung up within convenient reach of the operator. The device is provided with a series of cylindrical outlined compartments,
each adapted to contain a spool E upon which thread F is wound. The wall of each Specification of Letters Patent.
Serial No. 317,992.
By the provision of a spool cabinet made in accordance with my invention, it will be noted that a simple means is provided for containing a plurality of. spools with thread thereon, and so arranged that the thread from the difierent spools will be kept separate from one another and thus preventing snarling or tangling of the thread, and when any one spool is desired, it may thread from be drawn through the particular slit in the wall from the compartment containing the spool.
What I claim to be new is:
A spool cabinet, comprisinga solid block forming a casing, and provided with a series of circular outlined recesses in one face thereof, adapted to receive spools with their outer ends flush with said recessed face, diagonal slits opening through the recessed face, and of a depth in the adjacent face equal to the width of the flange of a spool which is adapted to cess, a cover pivoted to the recessed face and extending the entire length of the block and forming a closure for the recesses therein, the marginal edges of the cover being flush with the opposite sides, top and bottom of BERNARD HARRY BERRY.
