Be it known that I, LEONARD H. PEAVY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of New York, borough of Manhattan,

in the county and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Chairs, of which the following is a specification.

The invention relates. to chairs and like articles of furniture of .massive appearance, as in the mission type and other bulky styles, and the object of the invention is to utilize the spaces in such chair and provide therein a talking machine mechanism with the records therefor, and a sound conduit performing the function of the usual horn, all such parts adapted to be easily conditioned for service by the occupant of the chair, or to be dismounted and concealed in the latter when desired.

The invention consists in certain novel features of construction, and arrangements of parts by which the above objects are at tained, to be hereinafter described and claimed.
