IMPROVEMENT IN PRlNTlNG-PRESSES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 130,153, dated August 6, 1,872.
SPECIFICATION.
I, J UDAH TOURO ROBERTSON, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Printing-Presses, of which the following is a specification:
I Description of the Drawing.
Figure l is a side elevation of a printingpress made according to my improvements, to carry a pair of plates or stones. One of the side frames is supposed to be removed that the pressure and cam rollers and the cam at one side may be more distinctly seen. Fig. 2 is a plan of the same, and Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the adjustable roller-bearings.
The frames a a carry a shaft, 12, on which are mounted, by means of the circular plates on the cam-rollers e, the pressure of the printing-roller, as determined by the screws, remains unaltered.
It will be seen that the essential feature of the invention is the regulation of the pressureroller. One, two, or more may be used,'as may be convenient in accordance with the requirements of placing and removing the paper, distributing the ink, and the other peculiar features of the particular style of printing for which the press may be designed. In the same manner the details of construction and arrangement may be varied to conform to the motions required by the peculiarities of movement and adjustment of the various methods or styles of printing.
