, A Patented Fei. 18,1919.
Application led July 28, 1917', Serial N 6.4153398.,v `,Renewed January 16, 1919. Serial No. 271,510.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, ERNEST BERNIER, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at 1236 Church St., Cte St. Paul, in the city of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec, in the Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ticket-Holders; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same.
The present invention relates ments in ticket holders, and the object of the invention is to provide a simple, compact and cheap ticketvholder that will hold a plurality of tickets, and to provide means to deliver the tickets one at a time when wanted.
In order to more clearly disclose the construction, operation and use of the invention, reference will be made to the accompanying drawings forming part of the present application.
Throughout the several figures `of the drawings, like reference characters `designate the same parts.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the holder.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view through the holder.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the de` livery member.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the holder with one of its sides opened.
The holder comprises a casing 1 which is preferably provided with the hinged sides or covers 2 and 3 and horizontal slots 4 and 5 at one end adjacent to the top and bottom edges of said casing 1. The opposite end of said casing is provided with an out` wardly-bowed part 6, as disclosed in Fig. 4 of the drawings, and the adjacent edges of the covers 2 and 3 are similarly bowed or curved to fit thereagainst.
Within the casing are provided the movable plates 7 and 8, between which are located the coil springs 9 which press said plates 7 and 8 against the sides or covers 2 and 3; and between said plates `and the` covers 2 and 3 are held a plurality of tickets 10.
to improvev longitudinal slot;
The casing 1 is provided with the tudinal slots 11 `in the sides or covers 2 and 3; and in each of said slots is slidably mounted-the shank 12 of the ejecting plate 13, and 14 `is a button or head on the outer end of said shank 12.
Each plate 13 is movable within said casing 1 and is provided at one end with a iange 15 which rests outside the adjacent plate 7 or 8 and is adapted to engage the edge of the uppermost ticket and push the same out through the delivery slots 4 or 5 when a longitudinal sliding movement is impressed on said button 14. The anges 15 on the plates 13 project into the space produced by the formation of the bowed portion 6 of the adjacent end member of the casing, which portion is expressly provided for that purpose, so as to insure the normal disposition of the said flanges bevhind the ends of the presser plates 7 and 8, and, hence, extend substantially to the casing end in which the bowed portion 6 is formed, as shown in Fig. 2.
The tickets are inserted through the open sides 2 and 3, over which the said sides are closed.
It is thought that the construction. operation and use of the invention will, be clear from the preceding detailed descriplongition.
What I claim as my invention is In a ticket holder, the combination of a casing provided with hinged covers at op posite sides thereof, each cover having a an ejector plate carried bodily -by each cover and provided with a finger-piece which extends outward through the slot therein, whereby said ejector plates may be slid forward 'and backward relatively to said covers and `independently of each other; a pair of presser plates within said casing interposed between the ejector plates, each presser plate and the adjacent ejector being adapted to contain between them a pack raising of the corresponding cover and the ejector plate carried thereby; and spring means interposed between,` said presser plates for yieldingly forcing them away from each other in opposite directions and of tickets inserted upon the 2 j -Y l j 1,294,997
toward the adjacent ejector plates, so as to to engage the tickets and feed them one at 10 press the packs of tickets against the lata time through the corresponding delivery ter;';the" front end member of the casing' slot When the ejector plate is advanced.
