Description

. w. WILSON` Improvement in Saw-Arbors.
N0. 128,268, Patentediune 25,1872..
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
IMPROVEMENT IN SAW-ARBORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 128,268, dated June 25, 1872.
SPEcIEIoATIoN.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Beit known that I, ALBIN W. WILsoN, of Smithville, in the county of Burlington and State of New Jersey, have invented certain newr and useful Improvements inWabble-Saws; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon which form a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a wabblesaw, as will be hereinafter more fully` set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure l is a side view, and Fig. 2 a longitudinal section, of my improvement.
A represents the mandrel, and B the saw, which is secured on the mandrel between the T-lever C and a pin, F. This pin is held against a pin, E,- passing through the lever C and slots in the mandrel, and against the saw B by means of the key or wedge G, thus holding the saw against the lever C. rEhe lever isl held in place by the pin E. By this arrangement a lateral motion may be given to the saw in one direction while it is held rmly at right angles to the mandrel in the `other direction by the pin F. In the end of the mandrel and outside of the saw is a groove, to receive the by which the lever is operated. By pressing the wedge under the lend of the lever, the saw is thrown out of a right-angular position, and
lever is held against the wedge by a rubber or other spring, H. The saw is kept from turning on the mandrel by notches fitting on the projecting ends of the pin E, or by another pin for that purpose. moved by apin and lever.
Having thus fully described my invention,
of two witnesses.

long arm of the lever C and also the wedge D,
made to cut any sized groove desired. The' This wedge `is to be what I claim as new, and desire to secure by
