Description
C. A. PAYMER.

APPLICATION FILED NOV. 6. 1911.

UNITED STATES PATENT oF IoE.
CHARLES A. PAYMER, or BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DRAWERS-SUPPORTING BELT ATTACHMENT.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. PAYMER, a citizen of the United States, and residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drawers- Supporting Belt Attachments, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to drawers supporting attachments for ordinary pants or trousers supporting belts, and the object thereof is to provide a belt of the class specified, with attachments consisting of supplemental straps by which the drawers are supported, and which are so formed and applied as to permit the waistband of the trousers to come to the top of the belt or to prevent the belt from slipping below the top of the trousers to any considerable extent.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accom-' panying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which Figure 1 is a front view of an ordinary pair of trousers showing the usual waistbelt provided with my improvement;
Fig. 2 an inside view of one end portion of the belt detached; and,
Fig. 3 a view similar to Fig. 2 but showing the back part of the other end portion of the belt.
In the accompanying drawing, I have shown at a the waistband portion of a pair of trousers, and at b a belt of the usual form, and the waistband portion of the trousers is provided with the usual belt straps a forming keepers for the belt I) and through which said belt is passed.
In the practice of my invention, I connect with the belt Z) at suitable points, preferably at the sides and back thereof, drawers supporting straps c, this connection and the method of making it being clearly shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3 of the drawing.
In this operation the end portions 0 of the straps 0 are secured to the belt transversely thereof by stitching or otherwise, as shown at 0 and the other end portions 0* of the straps c are folded downwardly and inwardly over the top waist-band portion Specification of Letters Patent.

Application filed November 6, 1917. Serial 1105200506.
a of the trousers and engaged with the waistband portion 03 of the drawers as shown in Fig. 1, and for this purpose the top or Waistband portion of the drawers may be provided with the usual straps or with buttonhole slots or openings through which the end portions 0 of the straps 0 are passed.
The straps 0 are also provided with fastening devices 6 preferably of the ball and socket type, and consisting of two parts as shown in Fig. 2, which parts are connected, in use, as shown in Fig. 1, for the purpose of securing and properly suspending the drawers.
By connecting the straps 0 with the belt 7) and then folding said straps inwardly and V downwardly as shown in Fig. 1, loops 0 are formed in, or by said straps in which the waistband portion of the trousers fit as shown in said figure, and this method of employing the straps o and of attaching said straps to the belt 7) supports said belt in proper position at all times, with reference to the waistband portion a of'the trousers; but my invention is not limited to. the exact method of connecting the straps c with the belt I), as herein shown and described, and changes in and modifications of the details of my improvement, as herein set out, may be made, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing its advantages.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is r versely thereof so that the other end portions extend upwardly and are adapted to be folded inwardly and downwardly over the waistband portion of the trousers and to be connected with the waistband portion of the drawers, said straps being provided on the same side thereof as the belt with fastening devices consisting of separate parts and which cooperate to form in said straps a loop for suspending the drawers.
2. A trousers belt provided with drawers supporting straps which are secured thereto transversely thereof and adapted to be folded inwardly and downwardly over the waistband portion of the trousers, said straps being provided at predetermined points vand as my invention. I have signed my name in on the same side thereof as the belt Wlth presence of the subscriblng wltnesses thls spring clasp fastening devices consisting of 5th day of November 1917.
separate parts and which cooperate to form CHARLES A. PAYMER. 5 in said straps a loop for supporting the \(Vitnesses:
