Description

UNITED. STATESPTENTOEFICE 1 scfAB .Kivranrso11,50r'osiaoialvn,Kinases` To all whom it may concern." i j Beit known that I, OsoAnlWqh/ I'Anrsom aV citizen of the United ,Statesof America, re.-
siding at Osborne, in the countyof Osborne and State of'Kansas, have invented certainV new and useful Improvementsl in Lace Aand Embroidery Display Drawers, of whichfthe following is a specification. I Y
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvementsin lace and embroidery displaydrawers.' i
The primary object of the provision ofa drawer adaptedl for'displaying lquantiticsof laces', ribbons, emv broideries andthe" like ina floor or wall showcase rendering itA exceedingly easy to remove the drawer for restingn'upon the counter whereby the prospective customerv may readily'select the article desired.
A 'further object of the, invention is the provision of a display drawer that is 'eX-v ceedingly simple in construction and may be easily and cheaply manufactured, serviceable as a silent salesman by'accomlnodating therein a large assortmentof such goods as laces and ribbons, readily viewable by the customer aswell as removable by the clerk in charge of the same. V
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a display drawer for ribbons, laces and embroideries, capable of use wherever a holding drawer is desired and so arranged that the displayed articles may be held in different inclined planes for obtain-V ing a view of the 'entire contents and perf mitting the filled drawer to be received in cabinet openingsV of different heights when the articles are arrtnged. at differentl ad-V justments.
With these general objects in view vand othersthat will appear as the nature of the invention becomes apparent the same c0n` sists in the novel construction, combination, and arrangment ofiparts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated inthe accompanying drawing, and then claimed.
1n the drawing forming a part of this application and in which like designating characters refer to corresponding parts throughout the several views, Y
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device showing a single holder mounted therein, and Y Y Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal central sectional view of a portion of the drawer showing a plurality of article kcarriers posi-A l w "-stojres. the invention is' Y f4 LACE AND EMBROIDERY .DISPLAY DRAWER. 1'
ftion'ed at different inclinations and arranged Y therein.
v specification b'f'Letters Patent. 'Y Patented July 30, 19118. y y ApplicatienlineaFerme-y 13,1918. Ysemina$216,851.
It being firstunderstood that the ldevice is The drawer "boards such as v 10 for displaying lengthy "articles V,such asfribbon 11 .woundthereon",V 'y the device broadly consists of a box-shaped l `ftray or drawer 12 readilyarranged slidably iwithin any vusual wall or floorl cabinet such fas thosecommonly employed in dry goods v12V has its'innerforA rearV end i' 13 reduced in height with the adjacentlpor tionsl/l ofthe topl edges of the sides of the `drawerinclined for meetingsaid` end and thereby facilitating the entryl ofthe drawer into the opening ofthecabinetwhen desired.
The opposite outer or forward end15 of the drawer 12 is arranged with a plurality of perforations 16V serviceablev as iingenhold openings for slidably moving the drawer 12 and for convenience in whenever desired.v
v:Pairs of oppositely arranged inclined grooves 17 are provided in the sides of the drawer 12 adapted for the slidableY recepgrasping the drawer i ltion of the holding cards or mounts 10, it
being understood that each pair ofthe saidV grooves or slots 17 is adapted to receive one of the holders 10.
The holders 10 are ofvany Ydesired formi; .i
being herein shown of double arrangement for containing two kinds or rades of goods, the prices per yard being indicated upon the holder as at'18. InFig. 2' of the drawing, the inclined receivinggrooves v17 are augmented by opposite pairs v'of similarref ceiving grooves 19 arranged at a greater inclination than the grooves 17, `each ofthe grooves 19 connecting the top and bottom of alternate ones of ,saidJ grooves 17 fand-' substantially 'centrallyv traversing an in` f the drawer 12 at either of two -inclinations Y termediately positioned groove 17. 'In this f desired, it being seen that the greater they inclination, the 'lesser the height 'of the opening required for accommodating the drawer when Vfilled with such holders.
seated Within thdrawer atreitherinclina tion desired as indicated in Fig.f2 of the f f The openings v20 of the grooves in the top drawing. Certain of the holders 10, therein illustrated, are of the same length or height while it will be apparent thatftheA tops of the holders extend only slightly above the top of the drawer l2 when the holders are arranged within the grooves 19 whilethe holders project a much greater distance above the drawer when arranged within the grooves 17.
A serviceable display drawer is arranged which may be readily positioned within a cabinet, having glass sides or otherwisevas rlesircd, and arranged for holding a large quantity of goods on display and readily removable in the event of a sale. The strueture possesses great strength and durability and is calculated to save the time of the salesman by furnishingthe publie the meansv minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Copies of this patent may be obtained for vecents each, by addressingpthe Commissioner of Patents,
What I elaim as new is l. A display drawer having its opposite sides Varranged withV pairs of 4'inclined receiving slots, the said sides also having opposite pairs of additional'grooves connecting the tops and bottoms of alternate ones of said irstmentioned grooves and substantially centrally traversing intermediately positioned ones of said first mentioned grooves, the upper ends of the sets ofgrooves of different inclinations forming mouths in the upper'edges of the sides of the drawer.
2. A display drawer having ends and sides, the said sides being arranged with interiorly positioned X-shaped grooves connected together at their upper and lower ends, forming receiving mouths at the upper edges of the said sides and with the ,grooves extending downwardly at different angles of inclination from the. said mouths, and adaptedV for the reception of the holders.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
