To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LESTER L. Knpn, a citizen. of, the United States, and resident of St. Louis, Missouri, have invented certain. new and useful Improvements in Swings,

ofwhich the following is a specification con taining a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part. hereof;

My invention relates to-improvements in swings and the-object of my invention is; to

provide a swing comprising a Wheeled ve-. hicle such as a baby carnage, and'a suspend ing means therefor which is easily set up for use and applied to the baby carriage, and is inexpensive in construction, neat in appearance and separable from'the baby carriage so that the baby carriage maybe employed otherwise than as a swing.

The cord-adjuster, shown and described, has been made the subject-matter of a sepa rate application which was filed March 18, 1918 and serially numbered 223,059.

With the above purposes in view my invention consists in certain novel details .of the construction and arrangement of parts which will be hereinafter full clearly and concisely set forth in my speci cation, pointed out in my claims and illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a swing embodying my invention;

Referring by numerals to the accompanying drawing, 6 designates the baby carriage, 7 the wheels thereof and 8 the handle, all of which in their specific construction form no part of my invention except in combination with the suspending means for the baby carriage.

While I have shown the one type of baby carriage I wish it to be understood that my device is adaptable to all forms of baby carriages. The suspending means per 86 comprises a pair of screw-hooks 9 arranged to be secured in any convenient overhead support which is not shown. 7

Secured to said rings are the cords 11 arranged in pairs there being a pair connected with each ring and by preference thev pairs are formed from a single strand secured at its middle to the ring. Over each of the cords 11 there is an adjusterv 12 the cordbeing extended through an opening 13.

In the bight of the loop 19 of each cord, I secure a ring 20 from which ring and preferably integrally formed therewith, there extends a hanger comprising a straight portion 21, a bowed portion 22 and at the bottom of said bowed portion a V-shaped hook portion 23. In use two of these V-shaped hook portions are hooked over the front wheels between the spokes thereof and engaging the rims of the baby carriage, and the other two hooks are placed over either the rearmost wheels or the handle 8.

I make reference to these two points of application to the baby carriage for the reason that in some baby carriages there is a preponderance of weight to the rear of the rearmost wheels and in such carriages I suspend from the handle in order to prevent upsetting by over balancing rearwardly. When there is an even balance of weight in the baby carriage, that is an approximately even distribution of weight over the front and rear wheels of the carriage, I place a hook at each wheel. It will be obvious that there is little or no danger of the hooks becoming detached from either the rims of the wheels or handle because of their V- shape which exerts a wedging connection thus tending to firmly hold the suspending means connected with the carriage and by reason of the bows connecting with the hooks there may be a considerable vibration in the carriage due to the motions of a child therein which motions will be taken up by the said bowed portions instead of movements of the hooks with relation to the carriage parts, as would result were it not for the bows.

' By reason of the cord adjusters the device is readily adaptable to various. heights of,

ceilings or other points of suspension and by reasonof the peculiar construction of the adjusters, that is by reason of the arrangement of the openings and roove there is a maximum friction or surface engagement between the cord and adjuster.
