To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMAN C.SorIM1D'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at Spokane, in the county of Spokane and State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dry-Wash- Sorting Racks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in clothes driers and the primary object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which is suspended from the ceiling or over-head support and designed to revolve about a central shaft.
A further object of the invention resides in providing a device provided with a series of depending hangers which revolve independently on the. main revolving support.
Still another object of the invention resides in providing each hanger with a plurality of radial arms, each arm being numbered in accordance with certain designations given each hanger, whereby to assist in the assortment of the clothes to be hung thereon.
A still further object resides in providing a device which is simple and durable in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and one which will be very efficient and useful in operation.
With these and other objects in view, my invention consists in the novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter referred to and more particularly pointed out in the specification and claims.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this application Figure l is a side elevation of a device constructed in accordance with my invention, parts being broken away;

Fig. 3 is an enlarged side elevation, partly in section, of one of the hangers; and
Fig. 41 is a detailed side elevation, partly in section, of the lower bearing of the main support.
In describing the invention, I shall refer to the drawings in which similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which 1 designates a shaft or standard secured to or carried by a socket or head member 52, the latter being adapted for en- Specification of Letters Patent.

gagenfent to the ceiling of a structure or other overhead support, whereby to permit the shaft or standard 1 to be suspended therefrom. Upon this depending shaft or standard 1 is revolubly mounted a supporting member, designated in the drawings as 3, the details of construction of which is described herebelow.
The revolving support 3 consists of a tubular shaft 4- loosely mounted on the shaft or standard 1, the same being threaded at its lower end for engagement with the inner periphery of a hub-like member 5, as clearly shown in Fig. 4 of the drawings. Thus hublike member 5 forms the upper section of a ball bearing member, the lower section being designated at 6 and the inner opposed faces of said members 5 and 6 are provided with ball races within which are disposed the bearing balls 7. Removably engaged with the extreme lower end of the shaft 1 is a nut 8 against which rests the lower section 6 of the ball bearing member and it is apparent from this construction that the supporting member 3 will readily revolve about the central shaft or standard 1.
Projecting radially from the hub-like member 5 are the tubular arms 9 which engage at their outer ends with an annular tubular member 10. This annular member 10 forms an essential part of the main supporting member 3 and is braced at predetermined points thereon by the bracing arms 11 which extend upwardly and inwardly and connect at their inner ends to the upper end of the revolving tubular 'shaft 41, as clearly shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings.
The annular member 10 is preferably formed in sections, each pair of sections being connected together by means of the laterally projecting trunnions or the like 12 which fit within said sections and are carried by the vertical tubular bearings 13, as clearly shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings. Rotatably mounted in each tubular bearing 13 is a shaft 14:, to the upper end of which is removably secured a section 15 of a ball bearing member. The upper end of the bearing 13 is provided with a flange 16 which forms the opposite section of the ball bearing member and arranged between said sections 15 and 16 in ball races are the bearing balls 17. The shaft 14 depending from the member 10 and revolubly mounted in the hearing as hereinabove described and shown no in Fig. 3 forms a basis for a revolving hanger which will be hereinafter described in detail.
Mounted on the lower end of each shaft 14 is a head 18 from which radiate a plurality of spoke-like hanger arms 19, the same having a slight inclination upwardly toward. their outer ends. An annular band or rim 20 is also provided and said spokelike hangers 19 are guided through openings therein, as clearly shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings. This annular member 20 is braced by a plurality oi? upwardly and inwardly extending arms 21, which are secured at their inner ends to a collar or the like 22, the latter being secured to the shaft 14 just below the liearing member 13.
Formed on or otherwise secured to the upper edge oi the band 20 in alinement with each. arm 19 is a flange or tab 23 and these flanges or tabs 23 bear numbers. Inscribed on the collar 22 of each hanger member is also a number or letter representing a certain section on the main supporting member. By providing these numbers and letters, the operator hanging wash thereon may readily assert the same accordingly, each bundle 01" wash bearing a number to correspond with the number of the arm of the hanger 011 which the same is supported.
From the foregoing description of the construction of my improved device, it will be seen that I have provided a depending clothes drier which is revoluble and which is provided with a plurality of independent hangers, each oi which is rotatable on the main support and enables the operator to quickly and readily assert the wash, hang the same thereon and remove the same when desired.
It will further be seen that I have provided a simple, inexpensive and efficient means for carrying out the objects of the invention.
Nhile I have particularly described the elements best adapted to perform the func tions set forth, it is obvious that various changes in the form, proportion and in the minor details of construction may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the principles of the invention.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In a device of the class described, a depending central shaft, a tubular shaft revolubly mounted on said central shaitt, radial bracing and supporting arms securer to said tubular shaft, an annular member carried by said arms, and a series of inde pendently revoluble hangers supported on said annular member.
2. In a device of the class described, a depending support including a central shaft, radial bracing and supporting arms and an annular member revolubly carried thereby, a plurality of bearing members arranged at predetermined points on said annular member and a series of depending independently revoluble hangers mounted in the bearings on said annular member.
3. In a device of the class described, a depending supporting member revoluble on a vertical axis and a plurality of depending hangers independently revoluble on vertical axes on said supporting member.
