To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ALBERT F. REDISKE, citizen of the United States, residing at Cushman, in the county of Musselshell and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drying- Racks, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to new and useful improvements in drying racks and more particularly to a rack for drying films.

In drying films it is necessary that pr0- vision be made for films of various lengths and it is also necessary that the films be held in such a position that they do not contact.

It is the object of my invention to provide a rack with. these features, namely, one which may be. adjusted for films of various lengths and will hold the films in such position that they will not contact.

With these and other objects in view the invention consists in the novel details of construction and arrangement of parts which will be more clearly understood from the following description and drawings, in which,

Figure 1 is a perspective View showing the films in position, and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view.

In carrying out my invention I provide rods 1 and 2 which are of the shape more clearly shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings, and each of the rods is provided on one end with the cross rods 3 which have the ends bent at right angles, as shown at 4. Rods 5 are connected between the right angle extensions of the cross rods 3 and pivotally connected to the rods 5 are a plurality of spring clasps 6. The spring clasps are preferably secured to the rod 5 by means of the rod passing through the eye of the spring and through the connecting ears of the sections of the clasp.

The rod 1 is formed on that end opposite to that having the cross rod 3 with an elongated cylinder or socket member 7 having a screw 8 passing through an opening near one end thereof. An eye member 9 is secured to the cylinder or socket 7 whereby the whole rack may be hung upon any suitable object. The end of the rod 2 enters the elongated cylinder or socket member 7 and by adjusting the screw 8 it engages the rod 2 and holds it within the cylinder or socket and in any adjusted position. The films be ing dried are indicated at 10.

Having fully described the detailed construction of my device it is thought that the advantages and operation will be clearly understood. It will be seen that the rack may be adjusted for films of varying lengths by merely inserting the rod 2 within the cylinder or socket 7 to a greater or less degree and by tightening the screw 8 to engage the rod 2 the members are held in their adjusted positions. The spring clasp members 6 being pivotally and adjustably connected to the rods 5 may be so positioned that the films, when in position, will not contact. The rack is adapted to be hung upon any suitable object by means of the eye member 9 and the films will readily dry and can then be removed.

Having fully described the invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A drying rack comprising a vertical rod, transverse rods connected thereto and offset therefrom, and clasps pivotally connected to the transverse rods.

2. A drying rack comprising a vertical rod, transverse rods connected thereto, and clasps slidable on the transverse rods.

3. A drying rack comprising a vertical rod, transverse rods connected to the vertical rod, and clasps slidably mounted upon the transverse rod and pivotally connected thereto.

4. A drying rack comprising telescoping rods, cross bars connected to the rods and having the ends bent at right angles, rods mounted between the right angle ends, and clasps adj ustably connected to said last mentioned rods.

5. A drying rack comprising two rods, one of which is provided with a socket adapted to receive the end of the opposite rod, an adjusting screw carried by said socket and adapted to engage the rod, means connected to the socket for hanging the rack, cross bars connected to the ends of the rods and having their ends bent at right angles, rods mounted between the right angle ends, and clasps adj ustably mounted upon the last mentioned rods.
