Be it known that I, ELEAZAR T. WILKIN- soir, of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fasteners for IVindow--Panea whereof the following is avv .specificatiom` reference being had to the accompanying.

The invention relatesto a device for fas` tening a pane within a window sash without sash bars at the time'of their manufacture, l and are inserted wherever it is desired that the pane shall be secured by a fastener.

In place of the pin 4, any construction of f 70 tuted -by which a projecting Vledge is the use of putty or cement.

It is simple and readily applied, and further permits lof the ready removal and :replacement of the pane when desired.

It consists of a strip of metal with a projecting ledge and also with an inclined edge for wedging it against a projection set in the'sash bar as hereinafter described.

In the accompanying drawings, I have illustrated a convenient embodiment of my A invention, wherein- Figure I, is a plan view of a por'tion'of a window sash having the panes secured according to my invention. Fig. II, is a sectional view ofthe sameon a larger scale, taken on the line II, II of Fig. I. Fig. III, is a cross section along the line III, III, of Fig. II. Fig. IV, is a perspective View of the fastener.

In the drawings the sash bars are shown of a usual form, comprising ahead 1, and a tongue 2. The panes 3, are inserted in place so as to lie against the fiat surfaces of the head. Abolt or pin 4, is-passed through and secured within the tongue of the sash bar. This pin may preferably be tubular inform, with its edges upset to prevent its withdrawal from the aperture in the tongue which receives it. The upset edges of the pin form flanges 5, 5, are'are so spaced as to leave room for the insertionv of` a thin piece of metal between the flange and the tongue of the sash bar, in which the pin is inserted.
