To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, KAREN M. PHILLIPS, of New York, in the county of New York,
and in the State of New York, have invented a certain new anduseful Improvement in Astrological Clocks, and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof. I 7
My invention relates particularly to clocks, or clock I attachments,- which are adapted to readily indicate astrological conclusions according to the day of the year and the time of the day. a
The object of my invention an apparatus of this character by means of which a person may readily determine without calculations, the zodiacal signs corre-' sponding to the day of the year, and at the form thereof in the accompanying draw- 7 ings, in which,

In the drawings I have shown a stationary clock dial 1 having a removable calendar 2, which may be supported in slots or recesses3 on its face. This stationary dial 1 is provided with a number of circular sub-divisions. The innermost sub-division is a circular space 1 giving the hours of the day. Next to this there is a circular space 5 giving sub-divisions of the hours. Adjacent to this there is a circular space 6 giving the minutes. Next to this there is a circular space 7 giving the hours of the day according to the divisions thereof into twenty-four hours. The next space is a circular Space 8 indicating the position of the sun. Adjacent to this there is supported upon the dial 1, and 'removably attached thereto in is to provide any suitable way, an annular dial 8 having a circular space 9 indicating the house correspondlng to a particular'hour in the day, and next to this there is a circular space 10 indicating the destiny of persons coming under the same. Supported either above or below the dials 1 and 8*, there is a movable dial 10 which is adapted to rotate the same as the hour hand of a clock, one complete revolution every twentyfour hours.

name and the symbol of a particular part of the zodiac. Adjacent to the space 13 there are a plurality of circular spaces 14, indicating the characteristics of persons, the zodiacal sign and the intervaljof'the year to which this part of the zodiac corresponds. Beyond the circular spaces 14: there is a further circular space 15-which gives the days of the month. Upon the edge of the movable dial 10 there is an adjustable representation ofthe sun 16, which is adapted to be adjusted by hand to indicate the particular day in which a person is interested, and which is adjusted manually so as to be placed opposite that particular day for convenience in reading the dials. be operated mechanically by clock mechanlsm, and in Fig. 2 I have shown my apparatus arranged in this manner. In this figure, there is shown a clock mechanism 17 having a central shaft 18 for operating an hour hand 19. Around the shaft 18 there is a stationary sleeve 20, which supports in place the stationary dial 1, upon which is carried the annular dial 8 Outside of the sleeve 20 there is a rotary sleeve 21, which.
is rotated one revolution every twenty-four hours, the same as the hour hand 19, and which supports the movable dial 10 so as to rotatethe same.
By the use of my invention, a person may tell the hour of the day, and may readily determine for a particular hour on a particular day the zodiacal sign, the name thereof, the symbol thereof, the star corresponding thereto and the characteristics and destiny to be expected for any event happening in that hour of that day, merely by making the readings opposite to the representa tion of the sun 16. In this Waythe complete readings or horoscope for a particular hour of a certain day may be obtained. F or example, if the horoscope of a person born on the 21st day of March, between the hours of four and six Were to be determined, the adjustable sun 16 would be moved into the position shown in Fig. 1, and when the movable dial l had reached the position opposite the hours irom four to siX the readings Would be made from the various dials, thus finding that the horoscope indicated the first house, life and. health, Mars'and Aries, and all of the characteristics of persons located in the segment of the movable dial immediately opposite the sun as shown in Fig. 1 and comprising the days from April 19 to March 21. p r
While I have described my invention above in detail, I Wish it to be understood that many changes may be made therein Without departing from the-spirit of my invention.
I claim:
1. In a registering device, a stationary dial indicating the hours of the day, a movable dial extending beyond the edge of the stationary dial and having radial dividing lines spaced apart distances corresponding to the tvvo hour divisions of the stationary dial, andconcentric circles intersecting the lines providing segmental annular spaces designating the different parts of the zodiac and personal characteristics corresponding to certain days in the year and a representation of the sun adjustable with regard to both the stationary and movable dials.
2, In a registering device, a stationary dial indicating the hours of the day, a removable dial thereon indicating the house and destiny corresponding to a particular hour in the day, a movable dial extending beyond the edge of the stationary dial and having radial dividing lines spaced apart distances corresponding to the two-hour divisions of the stationary dial, and concentric circles intersecting the lines providing segmental annular spaces designating the diiferent parts of the Zodiac and personal characteristics corresponding to certain days in the year and a representation of the sun adjustable with regard to both the stationary and movable dials.
