IMPROVEMENT IN ROOFING-BRACKETS.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 116,845, dated July ll, 1871.
improved support for sta-gings for the use of carpeuters and others in shingling roofs, and for other purposes; and it consists in an angular metallic bar made adjustable by means of a screw, and havinga hinged claw end and adjustable supporting-arms, arranged as hereinaiter described.
In the accompanying drawing', Figure l is a side view, representing the bracket as in use. Fig. 2 is a front view.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A is the bracket. B is the horizontal or bearing-bar, upon which the vstaging-plank (seen in to the end of B.A .In using the bracket the claws or teeth penetrate the roof, as seen, and prevent slipping. D is the vertical portion of the bracket, provided with a screw-thread. E E are pointed arms attached to the screw-head F. The bracket is made adjustable as to height by means of the screw passing through the screw-head F. arms E E stand at an angle with the screw, and so as to brace the bracket laterally in each direction.
This bracket is cheap, safe, and convenient, and its advantages over anything ofthe kind in use must be obvious to all.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The improved roof-staging bracket, formed by the combination of a bar, B, screw l), claw O, and arms E E provided with a head, F, substantially as shown and described.
