' table of ordinary construction with suitable supporting farms and" bracketsadapted to carry a plurality stools or chairs that may be moved to a position extended laterally of].
the table for use, vand which stools-may be moved toa position beneath the table top panyrng drawing, the reference numeral--10 when out of use, so that a minimum amount of space will be occupied by the device. A further object of the invention is to provide a chair orstool attachment for tables in which the stools are permanently secured to the table and may be moved to a position for use adjacent the edge thereof and which stools are adapted to be swung beneath the table when not in'use, so that'thetable may be provided with a fixed number of stools while the loss of the stools from carrying tables is obviated.
l/Vith the above general obj ectsin view and others that willappear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the'same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more'fully described and then claimed.
in the accompanying drawings which show the preferred embodimentof the present invention and to which reference is had herein by like characters designating corre sponding parts throughout the several views:
Figure l is a top plan view of'the device with the stools projected laterally of the table and ready for use. Fig.2 is a hori:
zontal sectional view taken on line IIII of Fig. 3. Fig. 3 is avertical sectional View taken through the table, better to illustrate the supporting stools. Fig. 4: is a bottom plan view, partly in section, of a portion of the stools and supportingmechanism therefor, and, Fig. 5 is a bottom perspectiveview of a portion of one of the seats showingthe manner of securing the same to the supporting standard therefor and also the supporting links associated therewith.
Briefly described, the present invention y savagesdisa rees; f Patentedflctri2,1915-. Application filed ea 18, isis. Seri'a1No'.-15,183. i
aims amends a table that is especially adapted for fair grounds and similarresorts and whereinthe chairs to be usedwithfthe table are permanently secured 'thereto and s 'rarss earner having associated'therewith a pluralityof I links; wherebythe seats or stools maybe moved to the posltron' shown in Fig: 1 to be ready for use, and further to be moved *to the position shown in Fig. 2 when out of use tolie: in a position beneath the table top.
Such construction will obviate the loss of chairs or stools to be used-with each table and injiurytlrereto will be obviated by positioning the SitIYlBbQHBl-th the tabletop when not in use, while a minimum amount of space isnecessary for; packingand storing of the devices as willbe evident 7 Referring morein detail to the accomd esi girates the top of a table of ordinary construction which includes supporting corner legs 11 and the usual side and end boards 12.
Hereinafter, for the purpose of clearness, thesupporting seats will be referred to as stools, and the supporting mechanism therefor includes in detail, as more clearly shown in Fig. 8, a vertical shaft 12 secured centraily to the bottom of the table top 10 by the fastening plate 14 and carries adjacent the lower end thereof a disk 15 adapted to provide a support for the bracing arms 16 connected at their upper ends to the table top 10 and at their lower ends to said disk.
A pair of circular spaced plates 17 are carried by the lower end of the shaft 13 and constitute the attaching means for the stools. The plates 17 are connected by the central shaft 13 and carry adjacent their edges vertical pivot pins l8constituting supat 21, constitute the meansfor securing the stools to the table.
Each side of the table has four stools associated therewith while each end thereof these stools being shown partially in detail 10s is provided with a pair of stools, one of in Fig. 5 and includes the supporting tubu-j lar member 22 carrying at its lower end supporting legs 23 as clearly shown in Fig. 3. The upper end of each tubular member 22 is longitudinally slitted to provide laterally bent ea1-24 adapted to be secured as by pins 25 to the seat section 26 ofthe stool.
The outer link 20 projecting from the end 7 of the "table is connected bye pivot pin 27 centrally I of the link 28, Which link is pivota'lly connected as at 29 to the pivot mm 25 of the seat 26; this construction beingv clea'rlYshovvn in Fig. 2. The stoolsrprO- V jecting from the sides of the table-s re snni- 'liilyconnected as at 30tovthe link 31', which link is connected etits ends to 'thepivot pinsf25'ivhile another'link 82 pivOtallycbn- 1 nects the adjacent side seatsv 26 tolthe seat- V pivots 25,

From the above detailed'descitiption, of
the devicegfit is believed thatfthe operation 7 thereof will be readily apparent; and while Iheve-shown and described ithe xpreferred' (I einhodirnent of the present invention, I do not 'ivish'to confine nyself 'to the exact de parting from the spirit and scope ofthe invention as'claimed.
