which the following is a specification.

'.lhisinvention lrelates to tiling cabinets and more particularly to filing cabinets of theusual alphabeticalarrangement as well as to cabinets arranged ifor the filing of correspondence, documents and other papersindexed by or according ,to date.

In handling business correspondence, and other matters of commercial routine, i,tis convenient and often necessaryto have certain matters brought to the' attention ofthe correspondent at certain predetermined periods, and especially is this true in a business in which what is'iisually termed the follow up system is employed. This periodical Selection of certain matters requiring attention at predetermined dates has been accomplished ,usually by using, supplemental to the usual alphabetical index or file, an index of calendarial arrangement; in some sys-' tems the alphabetical index is dispensed with and the correspondence andother pa.. pers are filed according to calendar'classification alone.

It is apparent that a double classification s is useful and desirable and it. is one of thecliietn objects of my present invention to providea single filing cabinet or system arranged so that papers of all kinds may be filed in any desired sequential order, and at .the time of filing may be adjusted so that they willbe withdrawn from the files according to another classification without disturbing the arrangement -Ioff the papers remain ing .in the cabinet.`

Another object of my invention is to equip a tiling cabinetwith suitable manipulative `means for selecting, and. inthe embodiment shown, for withdrawing 'from the cabinet any desired or predetermined articles, vpapers and the lilie'cont-ai'ned in the cabinet.

From the foregoing it will be understood that the operation of my devices is as follows: The sheets or folders 17 are placed .in the file and divided by guides indexed in any desired manner, such for instance, as in alphabetical order.
