To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRI E. Burmese, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Lincoln, county of Grafton, State of New Hampshire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pulp-Grindstones, of which the following is'. a full and clear specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawlngs, in which- Figure 1 is a radial section 'of grindstone constructed in accordancewith one embodiment of my invention; Fig. 2 a side elevation of the same.
In that Iclass of pul grindstones in which the stones are clampev in fplace on the .shaft by vmeans of.' a pair o clamping threaded on the shaft, it, frequently ha pens that the threaded parts become Nso firmly stuck together. by rust, etc., that the disks haveto ,be broken up in order -to removethem from the shaft and enable the stone to be replaced a new one.
It 1s the' cbJect of my present invention to so construct the clamping devices that the' disks may be readily taken apart and removed sectionallyif they become stuck on the threaded shaft, thereby making it an easy matter to remove the stone while at the 40 enlarged central op same time avoiding the loss of the disks or ianges. It will be observed that a feature of im portance lies in tapering the hub section and having the same fit into a tapering concentric hole in the outer section, as in this way it will require buta comparatively sli ht initial movement of the outer section to ree it from the hub section, thereby rendering it unnecessary to use -any thicker packing strips k than are usually employed.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is: I
In combination with a threaded shaft, a grindstone, iiller pieces and a pair of disks threadedon vsaid shaft so .as to clamp the stone, each of saiddisks being constructed of two concentric sections, one inserted in the other, the inserted section being threaded internally for engagement with the shaft and tapered inwardly externally to fit a correspondingly tapered opening in the outer section, means being provided for keying the two parts together, for thepurpose .set forth.
