To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SALLIE B. WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing in South Berkeley, in the county of Alameda, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Curtain- Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention is an improvement on my curtain holder, patented June 4th, 1912, No. 1,028,164.

The object of my invention is to provide a curtain holder of cheaper and more simple construction.

In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1, is a perspective view of my improved holder, shown as applied to a window, showing in dotted lines its position when swung from in front of the window, the lower portions being broken away; Fig. 2 isa broken perspective view of the holder and the brackets and hooks therefor; Fig. 3 is a broken longitudinal sectional view of a part of the holder; Fig. i is a similar view of the bend or angle of the holder above the brackets in which the holder is revoluble; Fig. 5 is a similarv view of the other bend or angle of the holder; Fig. 6 is a top view of the holder. I Referring to the drawing, 1 indicates a window frame, to the top of which brackets, 2 and 3, and the hook 15, on one side, and the hook 4, on the other side of the frame, are attached, preferably, by screws. The brackets, 2 and 8, may consist of one piece of metal bent as shown in the drawings, or of separate pieces, the bracket, 2, having a hole, 5, and the bracket, 3, a hole, 6, alined vertically to form an elongated bearing for the vertical member, 7, of that part, 8, of the curtain holder, 89, which swings when the curtain holder moves to or from the window. The hook, 4, is adapted to hold the other part, 9, of the holder, 8-9, helping to remove the strain of the vertical end, 7, of the holder, 89, on the brackets, 2 and 3, and horizontally and circumferentially to keep the curtain in position and preventing its swinging out from the window when not desired. The hook, 4, is semicircular in shape, the diametrical side of which is about at right angles to the window frame, so as to facilitate the unhooking of the part, 10, of the holder, 89.

The hook, 15, is located between the bracket, 2, and the side of the window. It

may be fastened to either, or to both. It consists of a thin metallic plate pointed at the outer end so as to pierce and hold in place the draping, while being swung with the holder from or toward the window. The part, 9, is smaller in diameter than the part, 8, and is revoluble and may slide longitudinally therein. The vertical part, 10, is smaller in diameter than the part, 9, and revoluble and may slide longitudinally therein. The part of the holder, 5-11-12, is a compound curve having its principal center at the point, 5. The holder may be tubular and bent as shown in the drawings, in which case the curved parts may be, and

preferably are, reinforced by metallic rods or tubes inserted straight within the part to be bent, and then bending the same to the proper angle. The holder is readily released from the hook, 4:, by swinging the part, 10, toward the other side of the window. Instead of being bent or curved as shown, all the parts of the holder may be straight tubes or rods welded together at the proper angles, which is preferably one apgle and that, approximately, a right ang e.

I claim as my invention:

1. In combination with a frame, two brackets secured on one side of said frame, having apertures in vertical alinement, a hook secured to the other side of said frame, a curtain holder having a horizontal member extending across the frame, two horizontal members at angles to the frame, a vertical member passing through said apertures, and a revoluble .member resting in said hook.

2. In combination with a frame, two brackets secured on one side of said frame, having apertures in vertical alinement, a hook secured to the other side of said frame, a tubular curtain holder having a vertical member adapted to fit into said apertures and revoluble therein, a horizontal member at an angle to said frame, and extending outward therefrom, a horizontal member extending partly across said frame and parallel therewith, another horizontal member in line with the last mentioned member, of smaller diameter and fitting into and revoluble therein, extending the rest of the distance across the frame, another horizontal member at an angle to the last mentioned member, of smaller diameter and fitting into ing an elbow at an angle, fitting into and and reyoluble therein, and another vertical member parallel with said frame and havrevoluble within said last mentioned memher and resting in said hook.

3. In combination with the frame, 1, two brackets, 2, and 3, with apertures, 5 and 6, a hook, 4, a curtain holder, 89, curved at the point, 11, at an angle outward, and at the point 12, at an angle, and parallel with the frame, 1, extending partly across the frame, and a part, 9, extendin the balance of the distance across, of sma ler diameter than the part, 8, and revoluble and movable longitudinally within the part, 8, and curved at an angle toward the frame, and finally the part, 10, with an elbow of smaller diameter than the part, 9, and fitted into and revoluble within the part, 9, and resting on the hook, 4 substantially as shown and described and or the purposes set forth.

4. In a curtain holder, the combination with a frame, of a bracket, 2, and a hook, 15, secured to one side of said frame.

5. In a curtain holder, the combination with a frame, of a bracket, 2, and a hook, 15, secured to one side of said frame, and a hook, 4, secured to the other side of said ame.
